Congressman Pete Sessions Discusses Constituent Meetings

Tags:

Last week, I had the opportunity to tour the DRS Technologies facility in Dallas. DRS Technologies is a leading supplier of defense products that focuses on developing, manufacturing, and supporting a broad range of mission critical systems to support homeland security and the military’s current and future operations. It was a pleasure to meet with the people who make sure our service men and women are equipped with the best products available.

State Department Designates Al-Mulathamun Battalion as Foreign Terrorist Organization

This week, the State Department announced the designation of the al-Mulathamun Battalion as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity.

The al-Mulathamun Battalion is led by the vicious terrorist Mokhtar Belmokhtar. Belmokhtar and his fighters were responsible for the January 2013 attack against a gas facility near In-Amernas Algeria. Tragically, the attack

Drug Trafficking Ring Operation Out of Arizona Busted

Issues:

A large narcotics ring based near the Arizona/Mexico border has been busted by U.S. authorities. The ring, identified by authorities as the Navarro Drug Trafficking Organization, was based in a small town on the notorious Peck Canyon Corridor where Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed.

The narcotics were then shipped from that location throughout the United States, specifically to the Northeast U.S. and our nation’s capital. Luis Alberto Navarro, who was

Congressman Pete Sessions’ Initiative to Expand Treatment Options for Troops with TBI & PTSD to be Signed into Law

Issues:

My amendment with Congressman Mike Thompson (D-CA-01) to expedite access to innovative treatments for members of the Armed Services suffering from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) will be signed into law. Originally introduced as the TBI Treatment Act (H.R. 2344), this proposal was adopted as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014.

For the past several years, I have worked to advance a proposal in Congress to expand treatment options for our nation’s soldiers who return from combat suffering from TBI and PTSD.

White House Incompetence on Obamacare is Just Embarrassing to Watch

Uncle Sam is crying “uncle,” at least for the fiasco that is HealthCare.gov (aka Obamacare), and running to the private sector for help. The White House incompetence is beyond belief. Where the website runs, the program will soon follow.

ObamaCare’s “overhaul v2.0″ hasn’t solved all the problems. In fact, it hasn’t solved any of the problems. And that is why ObamaCare’s critical access point is being moved to the private sector. Read more about White House Incompetence on Obamacare is Just Embarrassing to Watch

Chairman Smith: EPA Muzzling Scientists

Today, along with all 20 Republican Science, Space, and Technology Committee members, I sent a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy highlighting serious problems with the agency’s proposed New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for power plants. Specifically, the Committee members pointed out that any EPA rule requiring the capture of carbon must address where the carbon is stored.

Recently, the Work Group charged with reviewing EPA’s major regulatory actions recommended a review of the science underpinning the newest power plant rule. The 88-page recommendation highlighted the fact that EPA rushed ahead with its NSPS proposal without waiting for the advice of the agency’s independent

Congressman Ted Poe: Why I Voted Against the Budget Bill

Issues:

As 2013 comes to a close, I wanted to write you to explain my vote on the recent budget bill and to share with you a few recent highlights.

Senator Cornyn: Mistake to Not Fix Military Pensions

Ive heard at least two of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle say that, well we can come back and do this next year. Well, why do it next year if we could do it now? Read more about Senator Cornyn: Mistake to Not Fix Military Pensions

EPA Climate Change Expert Pretends to be in CIA to Get Out of Doing Any Work

The global climate change extortionists can’t be happy about the EPA’s leading expert on climate change going to prison.

But that’s just where John C. Beale is going, as he pled guilty to shamelessly accepting almost $1 million in salary and other “bennies.” The fed called his larceny a “crime of massive proportion.” Read more about EPA Climate Change Expert Pretends to be in CIA to Get Out of Doing Any Work
