Texas Teacher Wears "Vote Obama" Shirt at Lumberton ISD - Vulgar, Anti-Christian/GOP/Fox News Pics on Twitter – Uses CSCOPE

Issues:

This woman is not the teacher, this is one of the pictures posted on the teacher's Twitter pageDuring the November 2012 election, several students claim that Lumberton High School teacher Michelle Champagne paraded around the high school wearing a shirt with a picture of Barack Obama and "Vote Obama" written above the picture. This Texas teacher also has vulgar, anti-Christian, anti-Republican, anti-Fox News, anti-Rick Perry messages and pictures posted openly on her Twitter page and says her fellow Lumberton residents “cling to guns and Bibles.” One tweet on her Twitter page

“The Uninvited” Breitbart Session on Saturday Afternoon

Issues:

CPAC 2013 included some controversy, which resulted in the Breitbart.com team sponsoring a hastily organized session on Saturday afternoon that featured a panel of prominent thought leaders on the American Right who were “uninvited” by the CPAC board.

This year CPAC excluded presentations by conservatives whose messages and missions concern the threat of radical Islam, jihadists, at home and abroad.

Senator Cornyn Proposes Amendment Withholding White House Pay For Late Budgets

I issued the following statement after introducing a budget amendment that will allow the Senate to express its support of the “No Budget, No OMB Pay Act of 2013.” This legislation would withhold the pay for the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and other Senate-approved OMB officials for every day the President’s budget is late. Pressure Builds on Judge Robert Gerber's GM Bankruptcy Error - What will he do?

Issues:

Judge Gerber set to rule on fixing his GM blunderHearings are nothing new in bankruptcy courts, or any other courts for that matter, but a hearing held this month in Judge Robert Gerber's court in the Southern District of New York could have a dramatic impact on the troubled General Motors (GM) bankruptcy.  In "Bankruptcy Courts Part 7 - General Motors Revisited by Judge Robert Gerber... Oops", I reported about an error made during the rushed 44 day bankruptcy

Overweight Trucks Causing Massive Problems for Roads and Texas Budget

Issues:

Texas Roadways Feeling the Crunch of Heavy TrucksDuring Texas Governor Rick Perry's 2013 State of the State Address he said "Texas is stronger than ever." It is too bad the same cannot be said for our roadways that are crumbling under the weight of record numbers of overweight trucks. According to a report from a Washington research organization, The Road Information Report (TRIP), 18% of Texas roads are in poor condition and an additional 27% are in mediocre condition. Money, Tyranny and the Right to Bear Arms

Issues:

This is Part II (if you will) of my stance on the Second Amendment, spurred by the recent news from Cyprus. Thankfully the most recent reports say that their government is backing off their proposition, but my argument still stands. Americans should keep a close eye on Cyprus and their own government.

Scoop from CPAC: The Women’s Panel

Two days after I returned home from CPAC 2013, I met with a small group of conservative friends in Dallas and one asked what was my favorite part of CPAC. I did not and cannot choose my favorite speaker or panel, because so many were fabulous. But the all-women panel that made abundantly clear that liberal policies constitute an ongoing and long-term real war on women’s progress, was among my favorites. Lumberton ISD Looks to Replace Flawed CSCOPE Curriculum. Thanks LISD! Other Schools Should Follow

Issues:

From the moment I first brought up the flawed Texas CSCOPE curriculum to the Lumberton School Board over two months ago, and through the national controversy over the Lumberton Muslim Burqa School Lesson a month ago, I never once blamed the Lumberton ISD School Board. They, like most people, did not realize the massive problems with CSCOPE. I personally know some of the board members, and I know they are Christian conservatives who would have never allowed CSCOPE at LISD if they would

Donald Trump Calls for Amnesty at CPAC - Throws all Hispanics in One Bucket

Issues:

A smug Donald Trump calls for de facto amnesty at CPACConstruction mogul Donald Trump stood before CPAC last week and called for a de facto amnesty for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in this country. Trump said Republicans should block immigration reform because 100% of any new citizens created by immigration reform would be Democrats.

This is more of the typical block-everything, solve-nothing immigration policy that has left Republicans on the short side of the vote in the past two presidential elections. We have followed this path for many years now and we are no closer to solving our nation's broken immigration system now than we were then. CPAC 2013 and the Presidential Hopefuls

Issues:

Fellow TexasGOPVote blogger Tom Donelson recently wrote about some of the CPAC 2013 speakers who stand out as possible 2016 Presidential contenders, listing Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Rand Paul.

I respectfully add to that list Ted Cruz, Allen West, Governors Scott Walker and Jeb Bush, and a long shot but very popular person, Dr. Ben Carson of Prayer Breakfast fame.

CPAC also featured Texas Governor Rick Perry, whose presence seemed to signal interest in running for President, although he has frequently told audiences
