Pastor Johns Lawson Speaks at Dallas Guns Across America Rally

Issues:

Saturday, January 19th, I  was invited to speak in defense of our Second Amendment rights at a pro-gun rally Dallas.

The First Presbyterian Church of Dallas supported an anti-Second Amendment movement by hosting its 7th annual gun buy-back program to purchase guns in order to destroy them. However, across the street from the church, Lawson spoke for the pro-Second Amendment group who believed that guns should be placed in the hands of every responsible American citizen. Lessons from the NRA

Issues:

Obama's favorability is dropping, and guess what, the NRA is now more popular than Obama. Who would have thought? There are several lessons to be learned.

  1. Don't back down! The NRA didn't back down or begin with a compromise but stuck to their guns on the core issues.
  2. Offer alternatives. the NRA basically offered their own alternatives such as armed guards at school and expanded police protection. This forced the gun control lobby

Gun Control Debate Should Center on Mental Health and Big Pharma, Not Guns and Ammo

Craig Bushon and Bob Price discuss mental health and the gun control debateSomewhere the debate on the gun control issue has taken a horribly wrong turn. Evidence shows that guns dont kill people. People with mental health issues who are taking psychotropic drugs use guns to kill people. We have a national health crisis in regards to how the mentally ill are treated in this country. We have schools and doctors that are working for "Big Pharma" dispensing mind altering drugs like they are candy. In nearly every single mass casualty shooting,

I released the following statement regarding the House’s action this week to require Congress to pass a budget or withhold pay:

The White House has made it increasingly clear that its second-term agenda will be based on the misguided notion that we can tax and spend our way to prosperity. This week, President Obama once again asked Congress to raise the debt ceiling with no corresponding spending cuts – essentially writing a blank check that will allow an unrestricted spending spree.

House Republicans know that the first step to making serious reductions to government spending is through

Texas Prepares for Sovereignty if U.S. Defaults - Rep. James White Files Texas Self Sufficiency Act HB 568

Issues:

State Rep. James White has proposed a bill that will require the leaders of Texas to start crunching the numbers and figure out what Texas would look like if it had to be self sufficient... limited or no federal support.... OUR OWN COUNTRY.... oops, I am getting a little ahead of myself, haha. Hey, I didn't say secession but that certainly comes to mind when thinking about the federal government having a financial meltdown and cutting off most or all support to the States.

What would Texas do in the event that the United States of America defaulted? It is a very real possibility that one
