Breaking News - Joe Straus Received 70 Republican Caucus Votes

Speaker Joe Straus has received 70 votes in the Republican Caucus today.

The Texas House of Representatives met today to express who they prefer as Speaker of the House. The three candidates are Current Speaker of the House Joe Straus of San Antonio, Warren Chisum of Pampa, and Ken Paxton of McKinney. 

Tuesday, as the House returns for session, an official vote will be taken.
