Gallup Poll Shows Key Indicators About 2010 Elections, Looking Good For Republicans

A June 1st Gallup poll shows the percentage of voters who say they will vote for a Republican versus a Democrat in the midterm congressional elections. 49% said they would vote for a Republican and 43% percent said they would vote for a Democrat. This 6% lead is the largest lead ever recorded for the GOP in a Gallup poll. In addition, enthusiasm for voting in the upcoming Fall elections amongst Democrats is continuously declining.

There's any number of reasons for this: the public's perception of Obama's response to the oil spill, the shaky stock market performance last week, continued concern about the economy and spending. The bottom line is that, despite what is perceived as an underperformance for the Republicans in PA-12 a couple of weeks ago, there are still plenty of Democrats in trouble for this November.
