Not Just Catholics! Obama Sued by Texas Baptist Universities & Hobby Lobby over Obamacare Violating Faith

Joe Biden said in his debate with Paul Ryan that Obamacare would not force any religious institution to violate their faith. Paul Ryan replied by asking why then is the Catholic Church suing you over Obamacare forcing them to violate their faith?

The fact of that matter is, it is not just the Catholic Church that is suing over Obamacare. Since the Catholic Bishops boldly stood up and publicly opposed Obamacare's unconstitutional mandates, there have been DOZENS of other organizations that have also filed lawsuits against the unconstitutional Obamacare Mandates that will force these organizations/business owners to violate their faith.

I have previously posted up articles about Obamacare Lawsuits including, “Hobby Lobby CEO Stands up Against Obama's Anti-Christian and Job Killing Obamacare Mandates,” and “Media Ignoring Catholic Obamacare Lawsuits? That Explains Biden Not Knowing Obamacare Violates Faith.”

Now it is the Baptist Churches and Institutions who are challenging Obama over Obamacare's unconstitutional anti-religious mandates.

Baptist Colleges Sue Obama Admin Over HHS-Abortion Mandate

Further proving that opposition to the Obama administration’s HHS mandate is not limited to Catholic groups, two Baptist-affiliated colleges filed their own lawsuit today against the HHS mandate that promotes abortion.

Today, East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) and Houston Baptist University (HBU) filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, asking the court for relief from the Department of Health and Human Services’ “preventative services” mandate, which forces the Christian Universities to violate their deeply held religious beliefs or pay severe fines.

“Baptists in America, by virtue of their history, are particularly sensitive to coercive government actions that infringe on religious liberty,” says Eric Rassbach, Deputy General Counsel for The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which filed suit this morning on behalf of the two universities.

“America’s first Baptist leader, Roger Williams, had to flee Massachusetts and found a colony in Providence, Rhode Island, because his religious beliefs were not tolerated by the laws of Massachusetts. We shouldn’t have to fight for that same right today,” Rassbach added.

East Texas Baptist University and Houston Baptist University’s religious convictions prevent them from providing their employees with access to abortion-causing drugs. The Universities’ lawsuit aims to preserve their religious liberty and the right to carry out their missions free from government coercion.
