Mozilla Firefox Could Limit Your Internet Freedom (and harm small businesses too)

I’ve been studying the issue of 3rd party cookies, what they are and how they related to the freedom of the internet. It’s not my usual subject, but it’s fascinating in the respect that I had no idea how much money the 3rd party cookie business model contributed to the economy each year, especially for small businesses and bloggers like me.

In 2011, the ad-supported internet ecosystem (where 3rd party cookies do their work) contributed 5.1 million jobs and $530 billion to the U.S. economy. It accounted for 3.7 percent of the U.S. gross domestic product. This interactive advertising industry is one of the few American industries that has thrived in spite of the current economic climate. It is a bright spot in our economy that MUST be protected.

I try to explain the issue and what’s at stake in my latest video, and you can read my last blog post at Independent Journal Review titled "How Google Plans to Rule the World (or At Least the Internet)".
