Obama's War on the Catholic Church and Christians - Why We March In Pro Life Rallies

Obama and his henchman have declared WAR on the Catholic Church, and in so, attacking Christians throughout our nation. Our Judeo-Christian freedom of religion is fading fast as related in the Pope’s message.

For those that do not grasp this, just read some of the policies that have taken place since Obama’s inauguration in 2009. From the beginning, he made it crystal clear that he was on a mission to destroy the moral fiber of America. He started his term by signing an executive order on January 23, 2009, a day after the Right to Life Rally in Washington DC, repealing the ban on the Mexico City policy, therefore allowing the American taxpayer to pay for abortions abroad.

He pressed on to be invited to Notre Dame, a Catholic institution, to speak to the students on graduation day. This smooth talking abortionist spoke to the young adults about ‘open hearts and open minds’ concerning abortion. Last February the present administration declared that it would not defend DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act, marriage being between a man and woman. Part of the reason used was because of the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy in the military. In recent time, the administration denied federal money to the church to help sex trafficking victims because of the Catholic Church’s stance of not providing contraception and abortion services to the victims.

The latest act against the Catholic Church is the most blatant ruling that will be effective August 1, 2012 requiring insurance companies to cover contraception in all health care plans. This is in direct violation to Catholic teachings and to most Christians. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has a year to decide what action to take and have promised to fight. In my opinion, Obama wants control of the Catholic Church in America and if the Bishops, priests and the laity do not fight the administration, it appears that Obama will win. The present elected Catholics in Congress and the Senate are weak and have not done enough to fight for Religious Freedom. Vice President Joe Biden and Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi, leaders in the Liberal/Socialist/Democrat party, are a joke to their Catholic faith.

When will the Catholic pastors as a whole fight for religious freedom? When will Catholics stop voting for the Liberals who vote against the Catholic and Christian teachings? When, When, When? We could of course stop believing in our faith and start believing the religion of Obama or buy into Ron Paul’s Liberty movement. Paul voted in favor of repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ and allowing gays to openly serve in the military. Maybe these are his followers. His views on personal liberty that we can do what we want with our bodies is against Christian teachings, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own”? In the society we live in today, secularism and relativism have become the norm. Right and wrong are interchangeable.

I am afraid that if Obama is reelected, he will not allow the Right to Life marches in DC and around the nation and that the Catholic Church will be forced to accept women as priests because it will be ruled unconstitutional to only allow men by the Supreme Court Justices. And finally that euthanasia will be mandated. Sounds far fetched? Think again…if Obama is reelected he will have the opportunity to name more Supreme Court Justices mirroring his ideology. What were some of the first words that he uttered after he became president, “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation,” remember? What has transpired in just three years is the phenomenal decline of the moral fiber in America. If we are to remain a Judeo-Christian nation, Obama must not be reelected!

We attended the Right to Life rally in San Antonio January 22; let’s see if there is any mention in the Express and News about the event, I think not. Cathy Kerr from Silent No More was present as was Rocky Hernandez from Heroic Media and so was candidate Matt Beebe for HD 121 with his campaign manager Adam McManus. Dr. Cathy Nix addressed a small crowd of less than 200 and asked those attending to call their elected representatives. Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller spoke and almost gave the perfect speech. He failed to go where most priests dare not go, to ask the San Antonio Liberal politicians to stop voting for abortion. Where was Catholic Congressman Charlie Gonzales, absent, where was the mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro, absent, where was Joe Straus, absent, where was Elizabeth A Jones candidate for Texas Senate race 25, absent, where were all the elected San Antonio politicians, absent, where were all the hundreds of thousands of San Antonio area Catholics and Christians, absent!

In 1973 Roe v Wade gave a woman the right to abortion. Monday was the 39th anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision, and it will be marked by the Right to Life March bringing over 300,000 thousand Pro Life activists to Washington DC. Bill and I have attended two of these rallies and God willing, we will join them in 2013 for the 40th anniversary march. Please make plans to attend this event now. Let’s make sure that a Republican will be our next president so he can reverse the Mexico City policy and ban taxpayer funding for abortions abroad. We have two conservative Catholic GOP candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, one of these must be our nominee. There is a clear and present danger to all who believe in the sanctity of life. We must take charge and do our part in bringing down this administration led by Obama the anti Catholic, anti Christian, anti Jewish president.

A statement by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

In August 2011, the Department of Health and Human Services issued an interim final rule that will require most health insurance plans to cover preventive services for women including recommended contraceptive services without charging a co-pay, co-insurance or a deductible. The rule allows certain non-profit religious employers that offer insurance to their employees the choice of whether or not to cover contraceptive services. Today the department is announcing that the final rule on preventive health services will ensure that women with health insurance coverage will have access to the full range of the Institute of Medicine’s recommended preventive services, including all FDA -approved forms of contraception. Women will not have to forego these services because of expensive co-pays or deductibles, or because an insurance plan doesn’t include contraceptive services. This rule is consistent with the laws in a majority of states which already require contraception coverage in health plans, and includes the exemption in the interim final rule allowing certain religious organizations not to provide contraception coverage. Beginning August 1, 2012, most new and renewed health plans will be required to cover these services without cost sharing for women across the country.

After evaluating comments, we have decided to add an additional element to the final rule. Nonprofit employers who, based on religious beliefs, do not currently provide contraceptive coverage in their insurance plan, will be provided an additional year, until August 1, 2013, to comply with the new law. Employers wishing to take advantage of the additional year must certify that they qualify for the delayed implementation. This additional year will allow these organizations more time and flexibility to adapt to this new rule. We intend to require employers that do not offer coverage of contraceptive services to provide notice to employees, which will also state that contraceptive services are available at sites such as community health centers, public clinics, and hospitals with income-based support. We will continue to work closely with religious groups during this transitional period to discuss their concerns.

Scientists have abundant evidence that birth control has significant health benefits for women and their families, it is documented to significantly reduce health costs, and is the most commonly taken drug in America by young and middle-aged women. This rule will provide women with greater access to contraception by requiring coverage and by prohibiting cost sharing.

This decision was made after very careful consideration, including the important concerns some have raised about religious liberty. I believe this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious freedom and increasing access to important preventive services. The administration remains fully committed to its partnerships with faith-based organizations, which promote healthy communities and serve the common good. And this final rule will have no impact on the protections that existing conscience laws and regulations give to health care providers.
