Pete Sessions Applauds Passage of the STOCK Act

I released the following statement regarding the House’s passage of the Stop Trading On Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act:

Yesterday’s vote on the common-sense STOCK Act underscores House Republicans’ commitment to transparency and accountability. Since the start of the 112th Congress, we have taken several legislative actions to restore the American people’s confidence in our government, and I am encouraged by this latest achievement in our pursuit.

The House’s version of the STOCK Act strengthens and expands the Senate legislation to ensure that it would effectively prevent all government – Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branch – officials and their staff from profiting from knowledge gained through their official duties. I am proud to support the STOCK Act and applaud my colleagues’ efforts to bring this important legislation to the House floor.
