What Does Trade Promotion Authority (TPA/Fast Track) Mean?

As you may know, one of the issues being worked on in Congress this summer is trade. It’s a complex issue with a lot of acronyms that sound a lot alike, so let me explain. First, let’s talk about the acronyms and what they mean. Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) is an agreement worked out between Congress and the President that gives Congress an enhanced role in approving trade agreements. This is also known as “Fast Track”. Where is Justice for Waco Bikers?

I have sent Attorney General Paxton this appeal on behalf of the bikers being held in the Waco jail for an unduly long period of time without charges being filed:

Dear Attorney General Paxton,

The ever elusive Hispanic Vote: Will it even matter to Cruz and Rubio?

There are two Hispanic Americans campaigning for the GOP nomination for the presidency, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. They have many similarities; they are both US senators, Cruz from Texas and Rubio from Florida. Both are sons of Cuban immigrants, both are 44 years of age and both are social conservatives. Bill passes to rename stretch of I-10 after Medal of Honor recipient

Issues: 

Monday I spoke in favor of H.R. 2559, which passed in the House with unanimous bipartisan support. The bill would rename part of I-10 in Kendall County in honor of PFC Milton A.
