If You Have the Strength to Stand – ‘Stand Up for Obamacare’

Issues:

In 2012, when Barack Obama was fairly unpopular, Organizing for America helped get him reelected by convincing voters who were basically ambivalent about reelecting the president to walk like mindless zombies to the polls and vote for Obama.

Now, Barry finds himself in a similar unpopular situation because 54% of Americans abhor Obamacare. So, in an effort persuade healthcare reform detractors that they adore something they despise, the president is addressing the issue by employing those reelection magicians, Organizing for America. Why the Free Market is Superior!

Free market economics is the only economic system that allows you to act locally and thinks globally. Freedom and individual responsibility are centric to the philosophy. All socialism, including democratic socialism, depends upon coercion and forcing individuals to do what they may not choose to do Socialism and modern day liberalism are not based on liberty or freedom but on forcing the individual to conform. Is Texas Striving to Mimic California?

Among all of the tools governors have, the ability to veto bad bills is one of the most powerful. Usually this is wielded in a very limited way, and typically it is either to correct errors or unintended consequences not realized at the time of legislative passage of a bill, or at times a social issue will be at stake.   Read more about Is Texas Striving to Mimic California?

Drunk Texas Soldier Attacks Bartender in Italy with Butter Knife - Bizarre International Incident

Issues:

A butter knife with some butterYou heard it here first...

He got to go on a sweet active duty mission to Italy because he was one of the top 3 soldiers at the 2013 Texas Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year competition. Now he is just lucky that he did not get charges filed against him in Italy after he, according to eyewitnesses, went on a drunken butter knife attack and created an international incident. The soldier's name will not be revealed because he has not been charged with anything (yet), but what witnesses say he did is just bizarre. SDNY Bankruptcy Courts Sing the Blues on Fox Business - Maybe they should file Chapter 11?

The Bankruptcy Brothers: Judges Robert Drain and Robert Gerber Singing the Bankruptcy Blues at the SDNY CourthouseIs the Southern District of New York (SDNY) becoming the laughing stock of our nation's bankruptcy courts? After Chief Judge Cecelia Morris' appearance on Fox Business a couple of weeks ago, that just might be the case. I found this story while researching the SDNY on Bankruptcy Law Review. It seems Judge Morris wants to now blame all of the failings of her district's courts on the fiscal sequestration that is really just now starting to affect government entities. Sounds like more excuses from a court district already plagued with problems. Read more about SDNY Bankruptcy Courts Sing the Blues on Fox Business - Maybe they should file Chapter 11?

Rep. Allen Fletcher Re-Files Bill Prohibiting Sex-Selective Abortions

Issues:

AUSTIN - In response to Governor Rick Perry adding the issue of abortion to the call of the special session today, Representative Allen Fletcher (Tomball/Cy-Fair) filed House Bill 55, prohibiting sex-selective abortions.

"It is not disputed that the horrifying practice of sex-selective abortion occurs in the world, most notably in countries where institutional and cultural biases encourage it," Rep. Fletcher said.
