Cornyn Statement On Mexican President Calderon’s Washington Visit

I issued the following statement regarding Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s visit to Washington, D.C. today:

While we in Texas know firsthand the real security threats that exist, President Calderon’s visit is an important opportunity for President Obama and leaders from across the country to hear from him directly on the grave security crisis in Mexico, which has serious implications for the United States. I hope President Calderon will shed light on his critical battle against the cartels and share with Washington leaders the most pressing challenges he faces, how he can enhance his efforts, and how the U.S. can most effectively assist our neighbor and friend Mexico in winning this war.
