Enemies of the (Texas) State - Why Redistricting is Ours! - Action Required!

"It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare." -  Mark Twain

Texas has nine Congressmen who managed to survive the “shellacking” by the GOP vote. SHEILA JACKSON LEE District 18 in Houston which is 62% non-white and EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON District 30 in the Dallas area also 62% non-white. These two women have made it for another term in the US House of Representatives and are proud Progressives who unabashedly vote for the redistribution of wealth, the propagation of poverty and the destruction of our conservative morals. And still they are reelected. It is extremely difficult to understand why the voters in these districts continue to vote for representatives who do not represent them, or do they? Let’s take District 20 in Bexar County with 67% Latino voters. It seemed almost effortless 64% - 34% that CHARLIE GONZALEZ the incumbent won. Charlie is entrenched in this District 20 and will make it to 50 years which includes his father Henry B’s tenure. Charlie has failed to reveal to his Hispanic voters how he votes on Pro Life and other social legislation. Incumbent LLOYD DOGGETT District 25 survived in spite of the fact that he betrayed the children of Texas with his Doggett Amendment. Incumbent HENRY CUELLAR District 28 the only so called Blue Dog made it to November 3rd probably because he has the highest Conservative Score of 20. Imagine that! The remaining incumbents AL GREEN District 9, GENE GREEN District 29, RUBEN HINOJOSA District 15 and SYLVESTRE REYES District 16 all have Conservative scores of 12 each with Reyes scoring 16. Lee and Doggett each with a Conservative score of 4 and Johnson with a score of 8. All of these Districts are in mostly urban areas. Gonzalez, Johnson and Lee as members of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Equality Caucus promote the LGBT agenda.

Understandably we as Texans have many important issues to address this coming session, the economy, jobs, border security and health care. We also have some unfinished business Voter ID and Sonograms for pregnant women before they decide to abort or not. Voters have spoken and the Texas House has the responsibility of listening. This year redistricting is a key issue. It must be addressed by a Republican Chairman and a Republican co chair. Using redistricting as a tool to coerce representatives into supporting Joe Straus as Speaker is unthinkable and unethical. The Texas House has a great opportunity to make a difference in changing the makeup of our congressional districts. Representative Byran Hughes has made some rather serious comments on the race for Texas speaker concerning redistricting. It is counter productive to punish other Republicans with redistricting when they should take a good hard look at the nine remaining Socialist/Democrat strongholds.

The voting records of the nine Texas Congressional Socialists/Democrats still among us represent the decay of all our conservative values. While some might disagree on this point I stand strong that without conservative morals we are a lost society. The November election was about fiscal responsibility but social issues were also a strong force. Pro Life governors Rick Perry, Jan Brewer, and newly elected Susana Martinez, Nikki Haley, and Mary Fallin were supported by Pro Life groups and Texas congressmen elect Quico Canseco, Bill Flores and Blake Farenthold make up a strong Pro Life US House. With 680 Republican state representatives elected on November 2nd it is hard to ignore the cry of the people. Texas must not sweep this Pro Life November victory under the rug. The Texas House must have a leader who not only understands fiscal responsibility but advocates strong family values. Joe Straus has proved not to be this leader.

So while Republicans battle for leadership in the Texas House on the basis of who is more Conservative these remaining nine Socialists/Democrats flaunt their Progressive Status. The dilemma of the ‘Conservative’ title has been diluted and blurred by the Left leaving only a faint semblance of what a true Conservative stands for. Being conservative does not change; being conservative is not a fad or a political correctness title. Being conservative is doing what is right by being fiscally responsible, limiting government involvement and nurturing our family values. It is sad that while we are willing to fight hard for fiscal responsibility some fail to see the importance of our social morals. If we truly want to see America back on track we must provide the path for these issues to merge. Look at the legislation that these proud Progressives passed, co sponsored or sponsored than you will understand how critical it is that we rally around our conservative values, fiscal and social to prove once again that TEXAS can lead this great nation to victory in 2012.

It was historic.

Please read what the PROGRESSIVES THINK OF REGRESSIVE ACTION, meaning CONSERVATIVE VALUES!

Regressive Action: a pattern of legislative behavior that erodes freedom, knowledge and security. When constitutional protections are disregarded, when discrimination under law is fostered, when the pursuit of knowledge is abandoned and science overruled, when wealth for a few matters more than prosperity for all, and when "Yeehaw" becomes the articulation of foreign policy, our nation is headed in a direction that is not only morally wrong but self-destructive.

Progressive Action: support for legislation in the promotion of freedom, knowledge and security. Freedom is achieved when constitutional protections are respected and when people are treated with equality under law. Knowledge is pursued through rigorous support for science and education. Security comes from the protection of environmental resources, the strengthening of economic opportunity for people and the preservation of peace from erosion by wasteful, destructive militarism.
