Congressman Sessions on the Charitable Living Coalition

Congressman Pete Sessions with members of the Charitable Giving Coalition

Last week, I was pleased to meet with several representatives from the Charitable Giving Coalition, including Dallas members of the Meadows Foundation and the American Institute for Cancer Research. Formed in 2009, the Charitable Giving Coalition is compromised of over 50 nonprofit, charitable and other organizations and is dedicated to preserving the laws that encourage charitable giving. Currently, there are 104,223 nonprofit organizations in Texas that employ over 433,000 people and give $2.3 billion annually.

As you may know, the Meadows Foundation was established in 1948 by Dallas philanthropists Algur H. And Viriginia S. Meadows and provides funds for a range of charitable programs designed to improve the quality and circumstances of life for Texans. Founded in 1982, the American Institute for Cancer Research is a holistic cancer research institute that studies the effect of diet on cancer and cancer prevention.
