Congressman Smith Welcomes Texans for Papal Visit to U.S. Capitol

Today I welcomed dozens of Texans to Washington for Pope Francis’ visit and address to Congress. His message of hope and love is one that resonates with many people across different faiths. It is appropriate the pope’s visit occurs at a time when our country faces crucial moral questions about the sanctity of life and the kind of society we want to leave to our children.

 Smith was joined by several dozen Texans who responded to an open invitation to join him in Washington for the Pope’s visit.
