Cruz-Cornyn Resolution Congratulates the Houston Astros for a Historic World Series Victory

Senator John Cornyn and I issued the following statement today regarding the Senate’s passage of our resolution commending and congratulating the Houston Astros on winning the 2017 Major League Baseball World Series.

The Astros’ tremendous and historic victory two weeks ago has lifted the spirits of the entire Lone Star state. Houstonians and Texans have stood shoulder to shoulder in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, and this victory only further personifies the "can-do" spirit of our state.

“In a heartwarming way that only America’s pastime can deliver, the Astros have brought excitement and celebration back to a city that was in need of it,” Sen. Cornyn said. “They truly have earned history.”
