10th Annual Warrior's Weekend Honoring Our Fighters

Over the weekend, hundreds of veterans from across the country descended on the area I represent for the 10th Annual Warrior’s Weekend event. A 501(c)3 non-profit, Warrior’s Weekend is an annual fishing event for military personnel wounded in The Global War on Terrorism held in Port O'Connor. As the warriors made their way to Victoria, they were greeted all along the way by large crowds thanking them for their service. Once they arrived, they were treated to art displays, live music, boating, fishing, great meals, and award presentations - all free of charge, thanks to generous donors and an army of volunteers. I have been a longtime supporter of Warrior’s Weekend and their mission to support veterans. To learn more about Warrior’s Weekend, click here.

Meanwhile, in Aransas Pass, the 2nd annual Fishing with Vets tournament was held at Redfish Willies. I’m proud the people of coastal Texas are sharing what we natives know; there is not much better for the mind and soul than a day on the water.
