Attending the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump

Last Friday, all eyes were on our nation's capital for the swearing in of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. The United States' custom of a peaceful transition of power is one thing that makes our nation great.

For weeks leading up to his inauguration, the feeling of excitement grew as people across the nation booked flights and hotel rooms to witness the inauguration in person. We had dozens of folks come in from the 27th District of Texas, including school groups, families, business owners and more. Last week, I held an open house to welcome constituents to Washington D.C. and my new office.

The inauguration itself was exciting and impressive, with powerful speeches, moving benedictions, beautiful songs and more. It was a privilege to attend the inauguration of President Trump surrounded by so many great patriots. During his speech, President Trump echoed the voices of millions of Americans, calling for a country where power is in the hands of the people, not Washington D.C. insiders. He pledged to bring back jobs, secure our border, modernize infrastructure, get people back to work and more. I look forward to working with President Trump to accomplish these goals and make America great again.
