Congressman Sessions Applauds President-elect Trump’s Secretary of State Nomination

I wholeheartedly support President-elect Trump’s announcement to nominate one of Dallas’ favorite sons, Rex Tillerson, to serve as Secretary of State. I have known Rex for a number of years as a successful business professional, a dedicated Eagle Scout and proud supporter of the Boys Scouts of America, and a faithful patriot and friend. His extensive background in the world of energy development and geopolitical affairs makes him more than capable to excel in this post and to well and faithfully serve the people of the United States.  

We are facing a pivotal time where America needs to take a stand on the global stage and reassert our efforts to advance freedom, democracy, and stability. I look forward to discussing Rex’s professional and personal capabilities with my colleagues in the House of Representatives and the Senate and extinguishing any doubts they may have about his intentions. His confirmation is paramount to the success and security of our great nation and I have no doubt that he will make America safe, strong, and great again.
