Finally: Mandatory drug-testing for welfare

Why is mandatory drug-testing for welfare not the law all around the country?

One would think that the people funding those on welfare would at least like to know that they are living a drug-free life. Why should taxpayers have to fund people’s vices or indulgences?

Highways I-95 and I-75 may soon be jammed as the lazy, self-indulgent depart the sunshine state.

Florida is the first State in the union to require drug testing to receive welfare, including the age pension. In signing the new law, Republican Gov. Rick Scott said,

“If Floridians want welfare, they better make sure they are drug-free.”

Applicants who test positive for illicit substances won’t be eligible for the funds for a year, unless they undergo treatment. Those who fail a second time will be banned from receiving funds for three years.

Finally…accountability for those receiving philanthropy from taxpaying American citizens. We have a right to set guidelines for getting our money. Banks and other financial institutions want accountability, and they get their money back! We don’t LOAN the money on welfare; it’s a GIFT. We give it with the idea that the recipient will do his best to improve his life, not shoot crack or crank.

Needless to say the bleeding heart, enabling Leftists whine worse than their Affirmative Action president. Some even say this new law is unconstitutional. The Left wouldn’t know the Constitution from a Green Eggs and Ham.

Florida should be the start of something big, if Conservatives DEMAND that people receiving our charity show improvement in their lives. Our money is not for vacations, strip clubs, and drugs. If welfare recipients want the big charity, they should run for Congress.
