Gun Appreciation Day - Rally at Texas Capitol Featuring Jerry Patterson

Commissioner Jerry PattersonJanuary 19th has been declared National Gun Appreciation Day, a day for citizens across America to stand and show your support for the Second Amendment and the individual's right to keep and bear arms. Ronald Reagan said, "The right of the CITIZEN to keep and bear arms must not be infringed if liberty in America is to survive." As gun owners accross the nation rally and march on their respective state capitols, in Texas, Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and others will address gun rights supporters from across Texas on the steps of the Texas Capitol tomorrow at high noon.

Patterson's campaign manager Chris Elam said, "The Guns Across America rally is a tremendous opportunity for Texas patriots to become involved in the protection of our 2nd Amendment rights and as he has always done, Jerry Patterson will be at the forefront to lead the defense of Liberty and our Constitution. We're looking forward to a great weather and a great crowd at the Capitol grounds."

The rally will take place on the north side of the Texas Capitol in Austin at 12 pm on January 19. Confirmed speakers, in addition to Commissioner Patterson (author of Texas' concealed carry law), include Sheriff Richard Mack (a strong defender of the Constitution), State Rep. Steve Toth (who authored a bill protecting Texan's gun rights from an over-reaching federal government), Alan LaFrance (Texas Gun Talk), State Rep. Ralph Patterson, Eric Reed (National coordinator for Guns Across America Events) and political activist Adrian Murray.

Texas Capitol

All who support gun rights are encouraged to attend and send a message to Austin and Washington that Texas and Texans stand strongly behind the 2nd Amendment and our rights shall not be infringed.

Coordinators of the events encourage all to bring signs supporting your position and that they be "family friendly" as this is a family oriented event. Lawn chairs are welcomed. It is requested that long guns not be brought onto the Capitol grounds. CHL holders are, of course, permitted and welcome to carry concealed guns. Open carry is not permitted in Texas, yet.

I will be attending this event and encourage all supporters of liberty to join me at the Texas Capitol tomorrow!  The weather is going to be great so come on out! See you there!
