San Antonio City Council Election

Early voting is underway in San Antonio and will end on Tuesday June 6.  The Run-Off Election will be on June 10, 2010.  It’s been a long time since San Antonio conservatives have had an opportunity to win, allowing for a more balanced council.

Incumbent Mayor Ivy Taylor is being challenged by Ron Nirenberg, who resigned his District 8 position to run.  Julian Castro has thrown his support to Nirenberg ensuring a more ‘progressive’ city.   Nirenberg would again usher in more spending, more taxing; he would like to see a light rail system even though it has been turned down by the citizens and if the annexation bill does not pass the Texas Special Session legislature, annexation would bring in more revenue to spend on glamorizing San Antonio. Surrounding towns beware!

There are four conservatives who have an excellent opportunity to sit in the Council Chambers if you will take the time to vote.

Greg Brockhouse District 6 has lived in San Antonio over 30 years.  He is a graduate of Texas State University and served in the USAF for nine years.  He owns his own marketing firm and is well versed in city politics.

“The minute a politician thinks they know what’s best for you, is the minute they need to go. I will never stop listening to what matters most to those in our community. I will focus on being a humble fighter whose main goal is to deliver exactly what the community wants. It won’t be my chair I sit in at City Hall, it will be the residents of District 6 and I will put my heart in serving our community.” – Greg Brockhouse

Cynthia Brehm District 8 has run for mayor and understands the process very well.  She has worked hard to achieve success by volunteering in many civic activities.  She is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and from St Mary’s University with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.  I would say she is well prepared to meet the challenges the city of San Antonio will offer her.

Marco Barros District 9 has lived in this area for 30 years and feels very comfortable with the people that make up the district.  He has a BA in Journalism from UT in El Paso and is the president of the San Antonio Area Tourism.  His knowledge of San Antonio will allow him to be an effective member of the city council.

Clayton Perry District 10 has lived in this district for 25 years.  He is a retired Lt Col from Randolph AFB. He is a leader in his church and spent 13 years with global architectural engineering and construction firms which included projects in Iraq and Afghanistan.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M with a degree in building construction.  His knowledge and expertise will make him perfect for the council.

I urge you to please get out and vote!   Your vote is necessary to turn the Alamo City into a bastion of Freedom.   Don’t let the progressives take charge; they will eventually destroy the beautiful city of St Anthony and will leave behind a socialist grave yard.  Everyone will be equally poor.
