(VIDEO) Houston to get 2-4 Inches of Snow!

There is a winter storm warning in effect from noon Thursday until noon Friday. Houston may be picking up 2-4 inches of snow with temperatures expected to stay below freezing overnight, which could make road travel dangerous Friday morning.

It's not just Houston. The Examiner reports that the snow storm is expected to hit "Houston to Galveston, west to Austin and San Antonio, south to Corpus Christi, and all the way to the Mexican border at Brownsville."

Why is Texas expected to get a winter storm of this magnitude? According to CNN's "Morning Express" with Robin Meade

As the arctic air sits in place, a new round of energy is heading for the Gulf coast from the Four-Corners region. This will produce snow, sleet, and freezing rain from South Texas to Mississippi. Houston will probably get about 2-4” of snow mixed with sleet, and that will extend into LA and MS.
