Iran's Election and Pakistan's bombing show that Obama's Cairo Speech Falls on Deaf Ears

Congratulations Obama - Muslims in Pakistan surely displayed their gratitude towards your "soothing" Cairo speech when they bombed a hotel in Peshawar, Pakistan. The bombing of five-star Hotel Pearl Continental, a popular place of stay for foreigners, was responsible in the death of 18 people, including two United Nations top officials. Fifty others were injured.

What exactly was the point of the Cairo speech? Ann Coulter expresses, in a Townhall article, that "Obama listed, incorrectly, Muslims' historical contributions to mankind, such as algebra (actually that was the ancient Babylonians), the compass (that was the Chinese), pens (the Chinese again), and medical discoveries (huh?)."

Continuing on with his deceptive speech, Obama boldly stated that 9/11 was a "very nasty thing for Muslims to do to us, but on the other hand, they are victims of colonization."

What a second, so is Obama really blaming the nearly 3,000 victims killed in the 9/11 attacks on the colonization of the Muslim nations, which was done by France and England- not the United States?

Obama then went on to explain that the issue of women's equality is just as much an issue for America as it is for Islam. Coulter's response? "So on one hand, 12-year-old girls are stoned to death for the crime of being raped in Muslim countries. But on the other hand, we still don't have enough female firefighters here in America."

After Obama apologized for something we didn’t do and then juxtaposed our women’s rights issue with that of the Muslims - we are already in some dire need of damage control here - he continued on by boasting the common liberal talking point that "Iraq was a war of convenience, while Afghanistan was a war of necessity."

That's easy for him to say; the Democrats choose not to fight, "but the Democrats couldn't say that immediately after 9/11, so they pretended to support the war in Afghanistan and then had to spend the next 7 1/2 years trying to come up with a distinction between Afghanistan and Iraq."

"Maybe next they can tell us why fighting Hitler - who never invaded the U.S. and had no plans to do so - was a ‘necessity’ in a way that fighting Saddam wasn't."

Okay Obama, so you want peace amongst the nations- but you advocate other countries’ rights to nuclear power and deny us of ours. As written in a previous Texas GOP Vote.com blog post, President Obama proclaimed that "any nation, including Iran, should have the right to access peaceful nuclear power if it complies with its responsibilities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty"- yet as Coulter expresses, "can't the U.S. at least build one nuclear power plant every 30 years?"

According to a Fox News article, the allegedly rigged Iranian election of Ahmadinejad "means that Iran's leaders are shaking their still clenched fists at President Obama's outstretched hand." Ahmadinejad has also developed a close relationship with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, "threatening the freedom, security and prosperity of the Western Hemisphere."

Did any good come of Obama’s Cairo speech? Try asking the victims of Peshawar, or talk to the Iranian electorate - wonder what they have to say???
