Ted Cruz will Win Today's Election - Ready to Serve

Ted Cruz on Election EveAs for all of the candidates on this year's ballot, this election cycle has been a very long, frustrating, rewarding and exhausting road.  An extended primary thanks to some federal judges and the Democrats, a July runoff election and then a shortened sprint to the finish line.  Former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz will cross that line sometime after 7 pm tonight and become Senator-elect Ted Cruz. That is a very hard-fought and well-earned title for him and a great victory for conservatives in Texas.   Read more »

Obama Promise to Hispanics - You are Number 2 if I am Re-elected - How many times can he tell this lie?

Obama on the Hot Seat with UnivisionPresident Obama told the Des Moines Register (where I always go to make my immigration announcements) that Immigration Reform is his biggest "long-term" priority for a second term. That really is a "long-term" priority since in 2008 he said it would be passed during his first year in office. President Obama is really starting to look like Lucy pulling the immigration reform football out from under Charlie Brown.

Kudos to Jorge Ramos and His Questioning of President Obama

Monday night was the last presidential debate before election Day. It was in Boca Raton, FL and just as I had the opportunity to be in Denver, CO for the first debate, I traveled to Boca Raton to be with the people of Florida. In both states there was a large population of Hispanics watching the debates. They, like most Americans, are interested in an America with a better economy and more employment.   Read more »

We Must Secure the Border - But we also must do more...

There is no question that the lack of proper border security is a threat to our national security and to our national sovereignty. We must secure the border for a great many reasons. Not the least of which is to stop the flow of drugs across our borders that has led to a disastrous war on the southern side of our border. But securing the border is not enough.   Read more »

A Lawless Presidency - Part 5 - National Rifle Association Getting Furious Fast over Fast and Furious

Perhaps the most lawless act of the Obama Presidency has been its role in Operation Fast and Furious. The National Rifle Association (NRA) has been out front in keeping this story in the public's eye. While in Washington, DC, last month, I spoke with NRA Spokesperson Jacqueline Otto about Fast and Furious.   Read more »

Immigration and Presidential Politics - Great Topic for Tonight's Presidential Debate

Presidential Debate - Round OneAs President Barack Obama and Govenor Mitt Romney prepare for Wednesday's debate on domestic policy, I certainly hope they have spent some time looking at immigration. President Obama's policies have been extremely hostile to Hispanics. His administration has deported more Hispanics than any in history. And, at the same time, he failed to deliver on any of his promises for much needed immigration reform, despite his promises to the Hispanic community that immigration reform would be a first-term priority.   Read more »
