Why Employers should encourage talk about salary

According to the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 (NLRA), all workers have the right to engage “concerted activity for mutual aid or protection” and “organize a union to negotiate with [their] employer concerning [their] wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.”

The White House released salaries, and as this video shows these people make an average of $20K more than the average American:

You can discuss salary, openly. In six states the law even more explicitly protects the rights of workers to discuss their pay. Fantastic! I say employers should discuss pay. But in doing so, they should be able to discuss performance.

So when some Liberal comes up to complain about his or her pay not being equal to somebody else’s, the employer should be able to pull up their performance report and state publicly, as in the Break Room:

[Insert stupid Liberal here], you suck as an employee, but we’ve kept you around hoping you would get better. Your work is shoddy, as a person who is technical writer should be able to spell and know punctuation. Writing in all small case may work for the texting your friends, but not in the REAL world.
You are habitually late, leave early, and you have a bad attitude. I didn’t rise through the ranks of this company with grit, determination, and excellent work ethic, in order to babysit pikers like you. That “raise” you got was meant to insult you, as I have found that when GOOD people get pissed off, they want to prove themselves.
The opportunity is before you. Are you pissed off enough to actually contribute to what we do? Or do you think that this company is here to be babysit you?

The deck is stacked against companies. The government knows that exposing salaries leads to tension, and no company operates well under tension. Ask yourself why a government would mandate that a person’s private negotiation be made public?

If you are a GREAT negotiator, would you want the details of your negotiations made public? Not if you have a brain. Essentially Leftist pikers want to ride the back of the guy who does the work.

I want what HE got!

Get your own, Fool!

The reason good people get good deals is generally they BACK UP THEIR WORTH.
