New Year’s Resolutions from your Republican Party of Texas (RPT)

The following resolutions for the 2014 March primary election will be up for your consideration. I heartily encourage you to use these to help accomplish two goals:

1. Get Out The Vote (GOTV) in the primary. We want good participation by solid Republicans in our primary. While we welcome genuine conversions to our philosophy of smaller less powerful government, we do not welcome those who would “cross-over” just to distort our election results. The best way to guard against that is to ensure our voters show up!
2. Educate The Voters (ETV) that there are enormous differences in the two parties. The Texas GOP stands on solid principles and operates by listening to the wisdom of the grassroots and the Founding Fathers. In stark contrast, our opponents stand on having no principles whatsoever except perhaps income redistribution (aka “theft”), routinely deride and ignoring long-standing Constitutional protections, and operate as if they are your masters and you are their subjects.

As my colleagues on the RPT Resolutions committee observed when we finished writing and then ordering the six ballot propositions, God is first, Obama is last, and the Second Amendment is second. Resolutions three, four, and five are excellent too!

The resolutions are listed below, in order they will appear on the Republican Primary Ballot in March. I recommend enthusiastic support of all six.

1. Religious Freedom: Texans should be free to express their religious beliefs, including prayer, in public places. YES or NO
2. Second Amendment: Texas should support Second Amendment liberties by expanding locations where concealed handgun license-holders may legally carry. YES or NO
3. Franchise Tax: Texas should abolish the state franchise tax, also known as the margins tax, to encourage business growth. YES or NO
4. Welfare Reform: Texas recipients of taxpayer-funded public assistance should be subject to random drug testing as a condition of receiving benefits. YES or NO
5. No Lawmaker Exceptions: All elected officials and their staff should be subject to the same laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances as their constituents. YES or NO
6. Obamacare: The Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare,” should be repealed. YES or NO

Propuestas Electorales del Partido Republicano para las Elecciones Primarias 2014

1. Libertad de Religión: Los residentes de Texas deben tener la libertad de expresar sus creencias religiosas, incluyendo oraciones en lugares públicos. SI o NO
2. Segunda Enmienda: El Estado de Texas debe de apoyar los derechos otorgados por la Segunda Enmienda, al expandir los lugares en los que personas con permiso para portar armas lo pueden hacer legalmente. SI o NO
3. Impuesto Sobre Empresas: El Estado de Texas debe de erradicar el impuesto sobre empresas estatal, también conocido como impuesto sobre ganancias, a fin de promover el crecimiento económico. SI o NO
4. Reforma del Programa de Asistencia Pública: A los residentes de Texas que reciben asistencia publica financiada por los impuestos sobre ingreso de los contribuyentes, deben de ser sujetos a la administración de pruebas de consumo de drogas al azar, como una condición para recibir los beneficios. SI o NO
5. No excepciones para legisladores: Todos los oficiales electos y su personal deben de ser sujetos a las mismas leyes, reglamentos y ordenanzas como sus constituyentes. SI O NO
6. Obamacare: La Reforma de Salud, ACA por sus siglas en ingles, también conocida como “Obamacare” debe de ser derogada. SI o NO
