George Morovich: U.S. Representative Candidate (TX-25)

Hello, I am George Morovich. I am a Christian, a conservative, husband and father, a businessman, a Republican and honest.

During the past century we have seen a trend towards larger government and redistribution of wealth, both within the US and globally. We have seen the expansion of a large central government dictating to us at the individual and local levels. This is in line with Marxists philosophy and in contrast to what I was taught the USA was fighting for when I was young.

We must return to the original intent of our founders and retain the individual liberties as established by the US Constitution.

Government in the US was originally intended to represent the individual from the local level up. The US National Government is to provide basic services, such as defense (including protecting our borders and sovereignty) and to promote the general welfare. Welfare does not include checks to produce a plantation lifestyle (where people are “cared for” but are left with no opportunity), but does mean that we promote US commerce and interstate transportation. Rewarding those exporting our industries and jobs is clearly not in our nation’s interest.

I strongly feel that our interests must be represented by those who share the concerns and values of our citizens. I want to take back the government and put “We the People” back in charge.

My Challenge:

I ran against Lloyd Doggett in the 2008 general election where I garnished almost 90,000 votes, the most votes against Lloyd Doggett since 1996. I came in #3 of the 10 Republican Congressional challengers in Texas. I am confident that with your help together, “We the People” will be successful in 2010.

Why I Want to Serve You:

I am not a career politician. I am a career businessman. I love our country, and want it to remain the same land of liberty and opportunity our Founding Fathers established. God has blessed me with a wonderful family and a successful business career. My experiences have given me a multifaceted point of view on which I can make critical decisions in Washington. My job requires me to travel around the world and I am very aware of how truly blessed we are to live in America. America is a great and compassionate country. We need make no apologies.

Over the years, expansion of Government has taken America in the wrong direction. Our dollar is worth less. Government is busy placing limits and mandates on our lives and businesses. They have even placed limits on our right to pray. The Federal Government has moved far outside of Constitutional limits of power and out of control.

Our elected officials do not listen to us and forget our Constitution. They are no longer servants of “We the People.” I am committed to fight them – to put my life on hold – to go to Washington and say “Can you hear us now?”
