Voting participation in the U.S. is a call for members of society to be engaged and active in their community. Through voting we maintain the structure of American society and our institution of government. And it is through voting, then, that we structure our manifestation of participation and responsibilities for our society and the American political system. It is a right that is specifically granted, by the way of the 14th and 19th Amendment, to all Americans. However, possessing the right does not necessarily mean that people partake in the opportunity.

The presence of a life, is without a doubt, a miracle. An unborn struggles, unknown what it means to exist, inside this sack of fluids in the womb. This unborn is uncertain about what it is to be alive. We, as a society, take over its fate as we dictate its future with our laws when we determine when its presence is considered “viable”. Our laws look to when it is legal to destroy it, or allow it to develop even if deformed. Our laws give us “permission” to end a life, and create one in order to save another in stem cell medicine.   Read more »

Having grown up in a border town, the term “anchor baby” was drilled into my mind at a young age, and I was taught that these children and their families were just taking advantage of the country and were the cause to problems X, Y, and Z. Anchor babies—known by many as the spawn of illegal immigrants who come over to pop out kids in America and ruin the country—are actually quite legal.   Read more »

James Lee was fatally shot after taking hostages at the Discovery Channel building. He wanted to make a point to the world about Anchor babies. On Wednesday August 25th, both Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30) and her Republican opponent Pastor Stephen Broden were invited to speak to the Hispanic Community on the issues that affect District 30 and debate on the Contacto Inmigrante Show.
