May: A Better Republican Candidate Assessment/The Three I Oppose

Well to me, it’s better than any other I’ve seen. I’ve watched them all as completely as you can from outside their inner circle (in other words, by public lights. And I don’t, as many even supposed “experts” do, toss out an assessment of a candidate based on stories initially promulgated by people who are for some reason opposed to him or her.   Read more »

End DOJ’s Unwarranted Investigations of CIA Interrogators

WASHINGTON — In light of the vital role that our nation’s intelligence community played in gathering intelligence to end the reign of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today led 34 of his Republican colleagues in sending a letter to President Obama urging him end the U.S. Department of Justice’s unwarranted investigations of CIA interrogators whose cases had been formally closed after thorough consideration by career federal prosecutors.

Steelers NFL Player Rashard Mendenhall Defends Osama Bin Laden. Says we should listen to the Terrorist

Yep, you heard right. NFL player Rashard Mendenhall was not very happy about the death of Osama Bin Laden. He took his frustration out by tweeting. Get this, it was not long ago that this same player agreed that the NFL was comparable to slavery! Yep, making millions is slavery. I guess he thought he could just have the millions and not have to work, but the second they make him work for his millions he is a slave…. Wow.   Read more »

Sen. Cornyn Statement On Death Of Bin Laden

In the aftermath of 9/11, President Bush promised a fearful, grieving nation that those individuals responsible for this atrocity would be brought to justice. Now, nearly a decade after those horrific attacks, President Obama informs us that justice has finally been served.

Let this serve as a grave reminder to all those who wish to do our nation harm: If you murder Americans, you will be hunted, you will be found and you will be brought to justice.

Pete Sessions Statement on Osama bin Laden’s Death

Justice has met evil. Osama bin Laden’s death marks the triumph of freedom over unspeakable violence, hate, and tyranny. Osama bin Laden will remain in the ash heap of history as a world terrorist who could not escape the relentless justice of the United States.

The terror of 9/11 was matched by the heroism and goodness of the American people, and the memory of over 3,000 innocent lives lost that day will always remain etched into our hearts and minds. The tireless work and sacrifice of our military and intelligence

Memories Of A Late Boomer

I was at best a late baby boomer, although my wife says I’m older than I should be. But as I saw one of them today, I thought of the momentous national moments of my lifetime and found clips of them on YouTube.

Some years ago, my daughter asked if my (Republican) family celebrated on that day. No. In those days, we didn’t even THINK such things: someone shot and killed OUR president.   Read more »

Remember when America supported the Taliban in their fight against the Russian invasion? After a 10-year struggle and the loss of thousands of Afghan civilians, the Russians withdrew.

America entered Afghanistan to find Osama Bin Laden and eliminate the extremist Islamic organization, Al-Qaeda, who were responsible for the 9/11 attacks
