The Massachusetts Senate Race Should Be An Example

As conservatives across America watched the race in Massachusetts with anticipation, it would be my hope that a similar level of fervor would exist on the part of conservatives for each and every race which pits a conservative against a liberal during the 2010 election cycle. It is so exciting to see conservatives come together with their financial and personal support for Scott Brown, and we can only hope that we see this level of support and cooperation repeated throughout 2010 for elections at every level, from the local county races through the National races. We conservatives need to focus on our areas of commonality, to garner support for conservative causes and campaigns. The Republican Party,Tea Parties, other conservative groups need to put differences aside in order to focus on winning elections in 2010.

Get involved with your local County parties. Learn about the candidates running next year; discuss issues such as the Constitution and accountability to voters; look at their past, if they have any records, and once you have found a viable candidate, jump in with both feet to support him/her. Add your time, talent, and resources where you will see results. As we elect truly conservative candidates, only then can we have a prayer of a chance to change laws and take back our nation. Folks, we have an enormous amount of work ahead of us in a VERY FEW months. Our enemies have finances, our tax money, as well as George Soros money, a complicit media and the power of incumbency in many cases. If we do not find a way to come together to put aside our differences and work to defeat the lies of the left, work to re-educate the masses, open their eyes to the potential of that each individual holds, be willing to speak with neighbors/associates and point out the differences between tyranny and liberty, expose those who have violated the principles of conservatism, work diligently to raise funds to finance conservative efforts, our children and posterity will live in a vastly different country than did we.

So what is keeping ALL the conservative groups from banding together against our common enemies? This is a question that absolutely has to be answered before progress at winning elections will be made. Many reasons, but some of the chief of them have been that many little groups would rather the whole of the conservative cause fail than they would join hands to actually dig in and help. One local group flat out told us and the blogosphere that unless their candidate for the party chairman race won, they wouldn't lift a finger to help. Many would rather convince the public that their group is the only group doing any work for the conservative cause. If they can point their finger at other groups – “ See they aren’t doing anything, but we are – give us your support as we are the only group with the truth and with the methodology” they will be able to convince a certain gullible percentage of individuals who will believe them, and not check out the “other” groups. They have a vested interest in division – they are afraid they will lose control and power in their little “fiefdoms”.

That’s more important to them than winning elections, when it comes right down to it. Others are willing to destroy the reputations of other conservative groups in order to build up their own. We all know the individuals who enjoy putting down others in order to lift up themselves. Nothing new here – they give themselves monikers like “crusaders for truth”, when they only are out for number 1. Unless you can get over your differences and become a “uniter” rather than a divider, you are of no use to the conservative movement. Your rhetoric, plans, and boasting will do nothing to get conservatives elected – and those who we need to reach with the message of conservatism will see through your hypocrisy in an instant. If you would like to help the Republican Party, the door is wide open.

We have far too much work in front of us to be divided over petty issues – instead of focusing on our differences, why don’t we focus on the areas of commonality we share? Will you go down in history as a petty complainer? Always long on talk, long on writing, long on planning, long on criticizing, but short on actually helping, doing the hard, time consuming political tasks?

Folks, our nation’s freedoms are on life support, and if the shenanigans in Washington D.C. continue as they have recently, we may have little time to enjoy many of the freedoms we currently take for granted. I’d like to challenge you to start this New Year with an attitude of what you can do to work together with other conservative groups to win elections. Instead of criticizing each other, why don’t we see where you can help other conservative groups? Are you willing, as were our forefathers, to mutually pledge to each other your Life, your Fortunes, and your Sacred Honor to take back our great nation?

You don't seem to realize that the teapartiers hate your party too.
