Obama Makes Plans for Dems and Reps Leadership, All Governors - India Vacation

Obama in his TV appearance Thursday morning spoke about ‘Kumbaya’. Interesting how he has actually managed to say that the American people ‘want us to work together and to move the country forward’. He said that, “Voters sent a clear message that they want us to focus on Jobs and the Economy”. Who prompted Obama to say that? He mentioned that the Tax Cuts will be addressed during the Lame Duck Session. Immediate focus are the tax cuts and that the middle class families should not experience a big tax spike because of the way the Bush tax cuts are structured. He spoke of business extenders and unemployment insurance. He also said that there should be a family and business certainty to maintain recovery. Gee, do you think he gets it?

He has already invited leaders of the Democrat and Republican parties and promises it will not be a photo-opt on November 18th. He has reserved December 2nd for all Governors to meet with him. He will ask them what Washington needs to be paying attention to. Golly, I thought Governor Jan Brewer and Governor Rick Perry made it perfectly clear that we must secure the border. Hope he cleans the wax out of his ears before the meeting.

Taj Mahal Hotel

It’s hard to believe that this arrogant Obama will listen to anyone other than himself. This humble period I am sure is just a passing thing and he will be feeling more like himself after he returns from his vacation to India. After all ‘he is not one of us’ having to count $$$ for his vacations. He will be spending an unprecedented $200 million a day and it’s all on tax payer money. You know OUR money. Heaven forbid rich Americans use their own money to vacation so let’s tax them. So does he really feel for those not working, those having to visit the food banks? Actually does he even care?

President Pratibha Patel with Obama

Besides the vacationing do you wonder what else he is up to? We probably won’t know because the MSM won’t cover this event. What they will do is cover-up the event. The United States-India Business Council wants India to be part of the UN Security Council. How will that help America? The USIBC together with the Department of Commerce is hosting the Business and Entrepreneurship Summit and Obama is the key speaker. A Free Trade Agreement and a higher education link between the US and India is the ultimate goal. The US businesses that are in bed with Obama will also be attending. They are PepsiCo President and CEO Indra Nooyi, GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt. Obama will attend a state dinner in his honor hosted by Indian President Pratibha Patel. That’s the least Patel can do if he wants Obama to include him in the UNSC.

The Obamas will be staying at the Taj Mahal hotel, all 570 rooms. When was the last time you reserved an entire hotel for your best buddies? About 3000 of their closest buddies will be enjoying the ‘business weekend’. Of course Michelle will be ‘shopping’ while Obama ‘works’. By the way Obama will be accompanied by his WH chefs. There are conflicting dates but the Obamas should be in India from November 7 through November 10. At $200 million a day, that’s quite a trip! I am so glad he is in touch with the American people and is making sacrifices. Aren’t YOU?

34 warships sent from US for Obama visit

He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday. The measure has been taken as Mumbai attack in 2008 took place from the sea. Obama is expected to fly by a helicopter -- Marine One -- from the city airport to the Indian Navy's helibase INS Shikra at Colaba in south Mumbai.
Two jets, armed with advanced communication and security systems, and a fleet of over 40 cars will be part of Obama's convoy.

Endorse India for permanent UNSC seat: USIBC asks Obama

It said the U.S. should treat India as a favoured nation when it comes to information exchange relative to advanced technology or defence cooperation.
The U.S. should also raise India’s partner status and category tier-listing on the National Disclosure Policy, the U.S. Munitions List, and the Commerce Controls List, it said.

$200 million dollars a day?  More than the war is costing?  LOL!
And do you think we'd send 10% of our Navy?
No wonder people actually believed the outrageous lies that were mailed around this state, by Republicans.  Y'all will obviously believe anything in writing.  You and your kind must be the reason that the Nigerians keep sending emails asking for our bank account numbers.  Someone must fall for it or they wouldn't keep doing it.

He picked the Taj Mahal hotel because it was the site of the terrorist attack in Mumbai.   Indian will be buying lots of planes and miltary hardware, hopefully, from us.

Sounds like smart business!

Come on really, this passes for analysis here?  It's a bunch of ad hominem attacks with few facts.  Surely you can back up your arguments with a couple of useful facts and/or citations?

Last I checked on the MSM (i.e. Google), there are close to 7,000 articles posted on the trip.  That's a cover up?  USD 10B of deals announced, and this is a vacation?  I can tell you that no vacation will be relaxing with the travel schedule they have - something like 4-5 countries in Asia within only a couple of days.  That works on a guided European bus tour, but not in SE Asia.  That, and on vacation, they visit the site of a massacre?

Based on the above, I would surmise that you have some strange ideas about what the term "vacation" actually means.

A question though....and I definitely am not up to date on my contemporary slang....does MSM include foreign journalists covering this story as well?  Folks like the UK Guardian?  Or does the MSM rubric only apply to English speaking media, hence Der Spiegel would be excused?  What about CS Monitor?  Or are all press sources questionable by the fact that they are press....which implies we should all get our facts from....I don't know honestly.

I appreciate all the information you all have sent my way. Forgive me if I called this trip a vacation, it was a slip of the pen. Nevertheless, his extravagant India trip should be well documented by the US MSM so that all Americans who do not have a job or have to stand in line waiting at Food Banks can understand. The truth of the matter is that not until Obama returns from India will the exact cost of this very extravagant ‘business venture’ be known. I think we should all wait for Obama and the MSM to reveal the real cost, don’t you agree? It is my deepest desire that Obama ‘bring home the bacon’ to the American families now waiting for relief.

That wasn't a slip of the pen.  It was a very deliberate word choice - augmented by the silly photo you threw at the top of the article.  Sure - the cost is relevant, and sure I agree that the trip should be covered (and has been arguably).

I just point out Krauthammer's piece in the Chronicle today stating that the trip was worth whatever cost it incurred: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/editorial/outlook/7293360.html

....do you still think your article wasn't just a smidgen hyperbolic?
