Republican Party of Texas Applauds Senator Hutchison's Decision to Stay in the Senate

The Republican Party of Texas welcomes and applauds Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s decision to serve out her current term in the Senate. Her term runs through 2012. Senator Hutchison made the announcement at a San Antonio press conference Wednesday.

“Senator Hutchison is a strong, courageous voice for Texas in Washington, and we need her there working on behalf of our citizens,” said Republican Party of Texas Chairman Cathie Adams. “Senator Hutchison’s decision ensures that Texans will have a senior stalwart working in the Senate on our behalf to stop the liberal Obama agenda. Her decision today is good for Texas and for the Republican Party.”
