Rick Perry Requests Facebook Open Shop in Texas, Will Create 200 New Jobs

Facebook has been looking for a city to open a new office, and Rick Perry has offered $1.4 million in incentives to Facebook to open its new office in Austin, Texas. The deal would provide 200 jobs and improve the tech scene in Austin, which is still wobbling after Google opened offices there in 2008, only to close them a few months later. Here is a response to the request from Facebook's COO:

“We’ve been exploring various options around the U.S. to establish an additional online sales and operations office … Austin, with its deep talent pool, would allow us to hire the high-caliber employees we need to properly serve the people, advertisers and developers that rely on our service.”
