Senator Bayh Doesn't Seek Third Term In Senate, "Congress Is Not Operating As It Should"

Democrat Senator Evan Bayh announced his resignation from the Senate Monday, saying he was fed up with Congress. National Democrats were stunned by Senator Bayh's announcement and are scrambling to find a replacement for the popular senator.

There were rumors that Bayh would switch parties and run against Obama on the Republican ticket in 2012, but Senator Bayh quoted on the "Early Show" said that there is "no possibility whatsoever."

So what did Senator Bayh's have to say about Obama's Washington?

"For some time, I've had a growing conviction that Congress is not operating as it should. There is much too much partisanship and not enough progress; too much narrow ideology and not enough practical problem-solving. Even at a time of enormous national challenge, the people's business is not getting done."
