Update: It has now been confirmed by Libya and U.S. Military officials that the attack was a planned terrorist attack with the anti Muslim film being used as a cover. Even Obama was duped into thinking the attack was over the anti Muslim film, but I guess it does not take much to get him to sympathize with Muslims. Statement by Gov. Perry on the Benghazi Attack:

Gov. Rick Perry released the following statement regarding the Benghazi attack that killed the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans:

"Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans are now dead in the chaos of a destabilized Middle East. President Obama said he "rejects" these brutal acts, and condemns them in "the strongest terms" - yet still

President Obama has disgraced the office of the Presidency. His sympathetic reaction to the Muslims attacking our embassies and also his non-action to immediately secure and protect the embassies and demand justice are a slap in the face to all Americans on the anniversary of September 11, 2001. Did I also mention that we helped and supported these countries attain freedom

On this somber anniversary we stand together as Americans to remember the nearly 3,000 lives that were taken on a September morning just 11 years ago. From the brave souls of Flight 93 who gave their lives so that others might live to the many mothers and fathers who went to work that day never to return to their families—we are united in our commitment to honoring their legacy and ensuring a tragedy like 9/11 is never repeated.

On September 11 and every day of the year, let us show our support for the quiet heroes who work diligently to keep us

Today is September 11th, eleven years after the cowardly attack on our citizens. I will teach my children that on that day, while many focused on the panic and the retreat of our citizens in the streets, our first battles were already being won by heroes.

Courageous firefighters, police and bystanders rushed toward the attacks trying to save every life that they could.

These are reflections from a recent trip to New York around Saint Patrick's Day.

Twice terrorists attacked the World Trade Center, the second being the attack on 9/11, but often forgotten is the first that occurred on February 26, 1993. That attack killed 6 people and injured a thousand more when an explosion erupted in a garage. The first attack was the first warning of what laid ahead. The 9/11 memorial venerates those who died in both attacks and reminds us of what happened so that this day should never be forgotten. Even 9/11 Truthers are adding their voice among the growing and diverse list of grievances held by Occupy Wall Street protesters. Now we can add investigating the possible role of the government in the collapse of the buildings during the 9/11 attacks to all of the demands that the Occupy Crowd is making. So far the list of grievances includes ending all wars, stopping the increasing consolidation of wealth and power by the wealthy, and ending climate change. 

This past week and weekend were filled with remembrances of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. While we of course recall the shock, outrage and sadness, we also remember the deeply felt patriotic unity among Americans that emerged immediately afterward.

The attacks briefly silenced the rhetoric and rants against America’s shortcomings, even among the ordinarily relentless critics in the Hard Left, because the terrorist attacks were utterly unjustified and indefensible. The contrast between America’s goodness, and the viciousness and senselessness of the attacks, reawakened the American conscience
