During this last election in south Dallas, where black people generally vote over 90% for the Democratic party, I thought that the truth should be spoken in these uncertain terms. Last night I attended a meeting at King Street Patriots in Houston where the topic was talking to minorities about conservative and Republican principles. During the meeting I met Kira Davis and learned about her battles as a black female conservative and how she uses constitutional principles to elevate members of the black community.   Read more »

In North Texas, conservative African American voters, a small but growing chorus of them, are finding their voice and their message. Even more exciting, they are talking about how that message can be conveyed, so it will be heard, contemplated and embraced.

This is a progress report on our work this year. We raised enough money for a non-partisan ad campaign among Hispanics in Nevada, extolling free market and conservative ideas. Our goal is to run ads a week before the Nevada caucus along with ads throughout the year. We are still looking for money for a hard core partisan ad campaign in Wisconsin and Nevada. So far this year, we have done campaigns in California during the 36th Sistrict special election, ordered non partisan ads in Wisconsin through July 2012, and now are doing them Nevada.   Read more »

Federal Judge Panel Changes Filing Period for All Texas 2012 Primary Races to November 28 - December 15, 2011

AUSTIN - The Republican Party of Texas has issued an advisory to all Texas Republican County Chairmen with an update on the primary election filing period and changes to the election calendar over the next several weeks and months. As a result of a court order from a federal panel of judges in San Antonio, the new filing period for the March 2012 Primary Elections is November 28 to December 15. Here are some numbers to consider. Approximately, thirty percent of African-Americans view themselves as conservative, but as Jay Cost observed, Republicans are lucky to gain ten percent of those votes. What if Republicans garnered seventy percent of those votes? The new census numbers are in and Texas has to re-draw the maps.

As soon as the proposed maps start to come out you can find them here. According to the redistricting update conference call that I had with some high ranking legislators involved in redistricting, the first proposed map to come out will be the State Board of Education map.
