Wal-Mart Corporation, Luan Mai (the Lumberton Walmart manager who worked to authorize this contribution), and Lumberton Realtor Joan Abshire (the person in charge of the political action committee) have violated Texas Election Laws in a MAJOR way with an ILLEGAL $25,000 money exchange, according to the facts presented in a complaint against them. The Texas Ethics Commission is investigating, and at a minimum, large fines will be assessed with a maximum of one year in prison possible for the Class A Misdemeanor.
The Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Chairman Steve Munisteri has sent an open letter to U.S. Congress Speaker Boehner, expressing Texas’ GOP grassroots’ extreme disappointment with the recent tax-and-spend-but-no-spending-cuts “deal” cut with the White House. He also encourages the GOP Washington leadership to stand stronger against further “fiscal irresponsibility”, referring to the debt ceiling and tax debate starting already.

The following statement was released Thursday, after the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) rejected non-binding mediation with the Delphi Salaried Retirees. Recent media reports have indicated that the U.S. Treasury Department and PBGC made decisions that resulted in approximately 20,000 salaried Delphi retirees from across the country taking a severe cut in their pension benefits.
