Gun Control Debate Should Center on Mental Health and Big Pharma, Not Guns and Ammo

Craig Bushon and Bob Price discuss mental health and the gun control debateSomewhere the debate on the gun control issue has taken a horribly wrong turn. Evidence shows that guns don't kill people. People with mental health issues who are taking psychotropic drugs use guns to kill people. We have a national health crisis in regards to how the mentally ill are treated in this country. We have schools and doctors that are working for "Big Pharma" dispensing mind altering drugs like they are candy. In nearly every single mass casualty shooting,

Pro-Immigration Group Endorses Mitt Romney - Paul Ryan Ticket for President and Vice President

As the newly appointed Texas Director of Cafe Con Leche Republicans (CCLR), I am happy to announce our group's endorsement of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to be the next President and Vice President of the United States. This summer, Republicans have taken important steps to finding solutions to our broken immigration system through the adoption of pro-immigration reform planks in both the Texas and National Republican Platforms. Electing Romney/Ryan in November is a key step towards solving a system which has created chaos along our borders and encourages lawless behavior.   Read more »

Judge John Devine - Why are you running against Justice David Medina? - "I can Beat Somebody with a Mexican Name"

In what can only be described as shocking, Judge John Devine (candidate for Texas Supreme Court, Place 4) told former Texas District Court Judge Scott Link he decided to run against incumbent Texas Supreme Court Justice David Medina because "I can beat somebody with a Mexican name." The statement was made during a candidate screening luncheon and was witnessed by Houston attorney, Frank Harmon, who also attended the lunch.   Read more »

Obama's Victory Today will Cost Him Re-Election in November - Fire Up the Base to Vote!

Today the Supreme Court of the United States delivered President Obama a nice little package all wrapped up in a bow - a landmark victory in declaring the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare). While this is clearly a victory in this particular battle, will this be the catalyst needed to bring the conservative base back to the rolling boil it was before the 2010 mid-term election?   Read more »

Congressman Ted Poe Discusses Supreme Court Arizona Immigration Law Decision, Contempt of Congress and More

This month has brought several clashes of Constitutional power, delegation of authority and ultra vires acts. Last week, Attorney General Eric Holder was cited for contempt of Congress by the House Oversight Committee, President Obama made up new law by creating a new guest worker program, and this week the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled on Arizona's fight with the Obama Administration over immigration enforcement, and it will likely rule on ObamaCare. Several conflicts where the showdown of federal authority and jurisdiction are testing the very bounds of our Constitution.   Read more »

The Good And The Not So Good And The Fun At The Texas State Convention

While I have to agree that the state convention was a great success, it was not without incident. There were many winners and losers as Delegates campaigned for different positions in their Senate and Congressional Districts making for some tense situations.

Texas Will Lead And Unite The Nation In Immigration

‘Taking Back our Country’ was the theme of our Texas State Convention and the delegates certainly indicated that that is exactly what we plan to do in November. The convention has come and gone and so much happened that my head is spinning and my feet are still hurting. There is so much to share concerning the convention so I will do it in several articles. We are now beginning to plan for the National Convention that is scheduled for August 27 – 31 in Tampa Bay, Florida.   Read more »
