Here are some quick thoughts that popped in my mind on the recent elections. Yes, the GOP did well overall and yes, the GOP missed opportunities in Colorado and Nevada. Yes, we have heard the Monday morning quarterbacks lament our weak candidates in states like Nevada and Delaware.
California and Nevada were ours for the taking. We began to lose momentum and it was excruciating watching so much time, money and resources slowly fade away.
I am driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas today for the big Tea Party rally.
It is assumed by many Republicans that Minority Voters are property of the Democratic Party. In the case of Hispanic voters, this past decade showed that, through the concentrated promotion of our highest Republican ideals, we can get a lions share of the vote. In 2000, Bush managed to get 35% of the Hispanic vote and in 2004, he captured 40% of the vote. So the Hispanic vote is up for grab.
Yesterday, the results of six different primary elections came in. In five of the six elections, a female candidate came out on top. In California, the election of Meg Whitman for the governor candidate and Carly Fiorina for the Senate candidate marked the first time that women won both positions for Republican Party. The election of both these women may represent Republican California’s disappointment of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Carly Fiorina, Republican candidate for Barbara Boxer's California Senate Seat has run the most bizarre political ad . . . ever? This one features a "demon sheep" with glowing red eyes. Seriously.
