2010 Elections - Quick Thoughts

Here are some quick thoughts that popped in my mind on the recent elections. Yes, the GOP did well overall and yes, the GOP missed opportunities in Colorado and Nevada. Yes, we have heard the Monday morning quarterbacks lament our weak candidates in states like Nevada and Delaware.   Read more »

Our messaging on Illegal Immigration is what gave California and Nevada to the Democrats

California and Nevada were ours for the taking. We began to lose momentum and it was excruciating watching so much time, money and resources slowly fade away.

Of course the GOP destroyed the Democrats, but for the sake of the party and our 2012 prospects we must be introspective.

2010 Election Thoughts and Predictions

  1. The reports of the death of conservatism have been greatly exaggerated.
  2. I voted for Gov. Rick Perry today without any hesitation. I must admit that I thought my 2006 vote for Perry would be my last. The guy just keeps on going, much to the chagrin of the Texas Monthly crowd. That actually makes me like him more. Whoever convinced Bill White to run this year is probably sharing a drink with KBH’s political consultants.

Election 2010 Senators

I am driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas today for the big Tea Party rally.

(I have gone to Vegas for parties before, but this one will end before 5am and will involve less debauchery.)

I will also be at the rallies in Barstow and Los Angeles, and possibly even San Diego and Yuma, Arizona.   Read more »

Meg Whitman - Gaining the Hispanic Vote in California

It is assumed by many Republicans that Minority Voters are property of the Democratic Party. In the case of Hispanic voters, this past decade showed that, through the concentrated promotion of our highest Republican ideals, we can get a lions share of the vote. In 2000, Bush managed to get 35% of the Hispanic vote and in 2004, he captured 40% of the vote. So the Hispanic vote is up for grab.   Read more »

Success of Women in June 8th Elections

Yesterday, the results of six different primary elections came in. In five of the six elections, a female candidate came out on top. In California, the election of Meg Whitman for the governor candidate and Carly Fiorina for the Senate candidate marked the first time that women won both positions for Republican Party. The election of both these women may represent Republican California’s disappointment of Arnold Schwarzenegger.   Read more »

Demon Sheep? I think we need to be more concerned about Killer Sheep!

Carly Fiorina, Republican candidate for Barbara Boxer's California Senate Seat has run the most bizarre political ad . . . ever? This one features a "demon sheep" with glowing red eyes. Seriously.

It has to be seen to be believed.

It brought to mind this classic Monty Python skit featuring Basil and Arthur X, the killer sheep!   Read more »
