I attended the 2010 Republican Party of Texas Convention in Dallas this past week as a reporter, blogger, and as part of the campaign team for former State Chairman Cathie Adams.

Shortly after the hectic floor race for chairman that ended with Steve Munisteri of Houston defeating incumbent Chairman Adams, I walked with a heavy heart to the other side of the convention center where a little girl ran in front of me, decorated with what seemed like campaign stickers from every booth in the convention hall and a handful of Greg Abbott flags poking out of her hair.

The election for Republican Party of Texas Chairman was held in Saturday's General Session. The candidates were current RPT Chairman Cathie Adams, Tom Mechler, and Steve Munisteri.

Vice Chairman Robin Armstrong came out to speak highly of Cathie Adams. He explained that the RPT is responsible to elect the most conservative people in office to lead Texas. He and Cathie have managed, led, and fought hard for the conservative values!   Read more »

Republican Party of Texas Chairman Cathie Adams called on on Rep. Henry Cuellar Friday to support an investigation into the unfolding Obama administration's job offer scandals.

“As a Member on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Cuellar needs to answer immediately whether or not he will support a full investigation into Obama Administration officials offering candidates jobs to bow out of contested races,” said Chairman Adams.   Read more »

You know, I had a lot of respect for Debra Medina. She really ran an impressive grassroots campaign for Governor, but then she goes and does something ridiculous and I can't keep my mouth shut.

Earlier this week the Republican Party of Texas denied Mrs. Medina's organization, We Texans, exhibit space for the 2010 state convention. Upon receiving the news, Mrs. Medina sent a letter requesting that the RPT reconsider their decision claiming that the party is "cutting its nose to spite its face".   Read more »
