This past week, I had the opportunity to visit the Taco Bueno Headquarters in Dallas to learn more about the company and also how federal laws impact it. Taco Bueno has over 3,000 employees nationwide and the majority of those employees are in the state of Texas.

The recent debate about the super committee shows what the real debate is about, namely tax rates matter, or should matter. The GOP-proposed compromise has caused much apprehension among many Republicans and conservative since it may represent an overall tax increase, but what is missing is that the GOP plan is the beginning of a serious tax reform by lowering the overall tax rates.
The Senate, yesterday, passed my amendment to the current financial regulatory reform bill that protects U.S. taxpayers from paying for bailouts of irresponsible foreign governments.
In college I was a fierce Texas hold 'em player. Still it wasn't at the tables that I learned one of life's greatest lessons, that a loaded gun beats a full house any day. Political warfare has positioned conservatives with a royal flush since we can point back to our Founding Fathers, the Constitution, history and how the American way has led to our rise as the alpha country in the world.
