Senator John Cornyn Calls for IRS Commissioner to Resign After Attacks on Tea Party Groups

Senator John CornynEarlier this week, TexasGOPVote reported on the attacks on King Street Patriots and True the Vote by the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies under what appears to be a high level coordinated effort to harass and deny services to groups because of their political views.  If this is not the tyranny that President Obama asked college graduates to ignore, I don't know what is.

King Street Patriots (KSP), and Catherine Engelbrecht personally, were attacked by what appears to be a coordinated inter-agency blitz.

Texas, 11 Other States Ask U.S. Supreme Court to Hear the States’ Legal Challenge to the EPA’s Flawed Greenhouse Gas Regulations

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and Attorneys General from 11 other states on Friday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the legality of the Obama Administration’s unprecedented and overreaching greenhouse gas environmental regulatory scheme. In a petition for writ of certiorari filed Friday, the States explain that the EPA violated the U.S. Constitution as well as the federal Clean Air Act by concocting its greenhouse gas regulations without Congressional authorization. The States explain that the EPA ignored Congress’ law-making role by re-writing federal laws through administrative rule-making. The States urge the Supreme Court to overturn the Obama Administration’s “attempts to unilaterally implement policies in the absence

More Spending, More Regulation, More of the Same

Under President Obama, the deficit has doubled. The federal government now borrows 40 cents for every new dollar it spends. No family, no community, no country can sustain that kind of excessive spending. It’s the road to bankruptcy. We need to identify irresponsible spending, eliminate wasteful projects, and prioritize programs that provide the greatest benefit to the American people and economy.

Classic Literature To Be Eliminated and Replaced By Informational Texts in US Classrooms

JD Salinger’s classic, Catcher in the Rye, and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird are now on the path to extinction in many American classrooms to be replaced with informational texts featuring heart pounding readings like Recommended Levels of Insulation by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Invasive Plant Inventory.

Are you kidding me? Really, and this is not some Onion satire we are witnessing?

Stop the War on Coal

On Friday, the House passed H.R. 3409, the Stop the War on Coal Act, which is a common-sense package of proposals aimed at putting an end to the Administration’s war on coal that is harming our already weak economy. The EPA's costly regulatory assault on our nation’s energy producers threatens American jobs and drives up energy costs for North Texas families and small businesses.

With chronic unemployment plaguing our nation under the President’s failed policies, it is imperative that we stop excessive red-tape that is forcing layoffs in the coal industry. Just this week, coal producer

An Interview with the Texas Sledgehammer

The Texas energy sector is facing a multi-pronged attack from the Obama Administration and the EPA. Moratoriums and “ground water” mythology threaten to kill the vitality of the Texas oil and gas industry, at a crucial moment of innovation that could mean virtual energy independence for America. Expert leadership is required to resist efforts that threaten to undermine prosperity, stifle job creation, and keep Americans dependent on foreign oil.

Many want to see Texas oil and natural gas companies uninhibited and free to increase domestic production and find new ways to ween Americans off foreign oil and create jobs. Roland Sledge, candidate for the Texas Railroad Commission,
