Here is a thought: what if our atmosphere needs more CO2 as opposed to less? Harrison Schmitt, former astronaut and current professor at University of Wisconsin at Madison, and Professor William Happier of Princeton wrote recently, “Contrary to what some would have us believe, increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will benefit the increasing population on the planet by increasing agricultural productivity.” This is the complete opposite of what we are being told, but it does make sense for three reasons.

Last week I had the opportunity to interview Lord Monckton in The Woodlands, Texas, during a brief stop he made in the course of his recent trip to the U.S. In our meeting, Lord Monckton spoke in depth about three topics. For starters, he debunked man-caused global warming, illustrating that the U.N. climate models have dismally failed in their climate forecasts over a 15-year period and outlining the flawed arguments that global warming alarmists are attempting to use. He expounded on basic finance laws and how students today are no longer taught basic logic, including financial logic, and he raised some questions about digital defects apparent in Obama's birth certificate and suggested that he is just as eligible as Obama to run for president.   Read more »

One of the most frustrating things about politics and living in America is the hypocrisy I see every day. You know, like when some movie star like Sheryl Crow does a “stop global warming tour” telling people to turn off lights to save the world and she herself drives gas guzzling SUVs and has an air conditioned barn. When Sheryl Crow came to Texas A&M University, I put on a “global warming pool party” outside of the auditorium to draw some attention to the issue so that I could point out the hypocrisy of global warming advocates and also draw attention to the uncertainty surrounding the idea that climate change is man-made.   Read more »

Steven Hayward of AEI noted that climategate was the single event that changed the debate since the weakness of man-made climate change science was exposed and studies like CERN showed the significance of natural causes. With the recent addition of yet another set of emails exposing the scientific corruption involved in climate science, the knife is being twisted into the credibility of many of the climatogists whose mantra has been, “The world is going to end and man is to blame.” The recent exposure of science running amok gives more credence to the skeptics’ case that maybe man is not responsible for climate change

Contrivances are already being proposed to spend the $100 billion annual United Nations tax scheme called the Green Climate Fund before it is even approved at the Climate Change meeting in Durban, South Africa. While the GCF is supposed to be used to fund green projects in developing countries, Libya, with its largest proven oil reserves in Africa, wants the money to develop a desert heat project to replace carbon fuel.   Read more »

South African leader Nelson Mandela said that, “It always seems impossible, until it is done.” Mandela rightly envisioned the statement to mean freedom regardless of race, an ideal entirely supported by Americans, but the United Nations’ use of the statement during the meeting in Durban, South Africa is not supportable.

When Mandela’s statement is applied to the UN’s legally binding greenhouse gas emission targets, which are either laughably ridiculous or absolutely insane, every American should take care lest the UN’s impossible dream be allowed to destroy our national sovereignty.

The 1997 Kyoto Protocol set legally binding limits on greenhouse gas emissions at seven percent below 1990 levels by 2012, but no country has been able to meet that goal because it would have devastated their economies.

“We’re all going to die in five years” unless a legally binding framework to cut greenhouse gas emissions is accepted by the 192 parties attending the United Nations’ confab in Durban, South Africa. That is how a question was couched to a group of environmental extremists who claimed that the United States, Japan, Canada and other developed countries are roadblocks to a “progressive and aggressive solution,” thus turning the annual UNFCCC meeting into a “traveling circus that cannot decide.”

In recent days and weeks, the climate change alarmists, the doomsayers and far left environmentalists have suffered a number of setbacks to their predictions of dire consequences from global warming. These groups have consistently attempted to influence climate legislation, the US government and the public at large, suggesting that our planet is under extreme stress and is rapidly warming from the use of fossil fuels.
