Texas GOP Vote

Earlier this week, TexasGOPVote reported on the attacks on King Street Patriots and True the Vote by the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies under what appears to be a high level coordinated effort to harass and deny services to groups because of their political views.  If this is not the tyranny that President Obama asked college graduates to ignore, I don't know what is.

King Street Patriots (KSP), and Catherine Engelbrecht personally, were attacked by what appears to be a coordinated inter-agency blitz.

Tea party groups' allegations that the IRS has long been targeting them for their political beliefs were recently confirmed by an apology from the IRS. The scandal gained traction as congressional leaders began efforts to hold the IRS accountable and understand the depths of the federal government’s politically-motivated abuses of power.   Read more »

As the early vote begins in Texas, it is already underway in many states across America. Now is the time for us not to just get out the vote enough to win, but to bring all of our votes to the polls to send a clear message to our government. Many areas of Texas are solid red in our votes. But, in some of our largest counties we have gone anywhere from purple to solid blue.

Lt. Governor David Dewhurst was in his element at an event hosted at the King Street Patriots warehouse that featured such notable speakers as Michael Reagan.

David Dewhurst took to the stage to engage attendees and address voters, reviewing his record, and laying out a roadmap for change in Washington, D.C. As Dewhurst informed his conservative audience, “There is only one who has done what needs to be done in Washington. Everyone else has read a book.”

Although Dewhurst's remarks included a number of themes oft repeated by Republican contenders for public office, Dewhurst did provide specific policy proposals targeting spending

The Houston Chronicle and Media Matters have spent the last couple of days insinuating that True the Vote, the Houston-based nonpartisan non-profit that defends election integrity, is under an investigation from the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Chronicle’s Joe Holley initiated this round of accusations against True the Vote and their founder, Catherine Engelbrecht. Media Matters for America repeated it shortly thereafter.   Read more »

A Texas based judge with deep, overt ties to the Democratic Party has ruled that an anti-voter fraud organization--‘True the Vote’--is not a non-profit corporation as they claim, but instead an illegal front group for the Republican Party.    Read more »

Attorney General Eric Holder, who has been getting a lot of attention lately due to the Fast and Furious scandal that led to the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, is coming to Austin tomorrow, Dec. 13th, to discuss voting laws and his opposition toward Texas' recently passed Voter ID legislation. Holder also believes that the current Texas redistricting maps are set up to disenfranchise minority voters. Furthermore, Holder is for NAACP plans to involve the United Nations on US elections.

Is "Anonymous" behind the Occupy Wall Street protests, and who or what is Anonymous anyway? Brandon Darby explains.

Anonymous is a "hacktivist" group, that is, hackers + activists, that have also been described as an anarchic, chaotic, global brain or internet-based superconsciousness. Recently Anonymous hacked into several different police databases and leaked sensitive personal data, among them passwords, names, addresses, phone numbers and social security numbers of several police departments and associations, apparently in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement. They have also claimed credit for attacking child pornography sites, taking them down and exposing names of pedophile users.
