Whoever said that the Republican Party ignores Hispanics has obviously lied. Saturday, March 24, 2012, the Texas College Republicans hosted their annual convention at the State Capitol in the House Chamber. This convention was a big shift from what we had seen in previous years as we saw a huge “Latin flavor” to spice up the weekend. It was clearly evident on Friday night when we had the Hon. Dianne Costa, candidate for Congress for TX Congressional District 25 sponsoring our welcome reception. Elections are coming around the corner, and one of the most important races is in Congressional District 30. Stephen Broden has been reaching out to his district, meeting at different places and attending many events. Saturday evening, he attended special event with the Hispanic community of District 30.
Thank you to the Republican Party of Texas and all those great volunteers who actively build the party by selflessly crafting and guiding the Republican Party of Texas as SREC chairs, delegates, activists, candidates and donors. Our recognition as a Republican Party of Texas auxialary at the last SREC meeting means that we will now take on the challenge of growing the party head on together.
