Congressman Turner Secures Important Protections for the Parental Rights of Our Service Men and Women

Washington, DC: For the last seven years, Congressman Mike Turner, the Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, has fought to protect the parental rights of our service men and women.

Last week, the bipartisan FY2015 National Defense Authorization Act successfully passed the Senate and is headed to the President’s desk for his signature. Congressman Turner authored and successfully included provisions in this bipartisan legislation that will provide a uniform national standard that prohibits state courts from using past, current, or future deployment against service members when making child custody determinations.   Read more »

Fight Continues: Turner, Boehner, Portman Push for New Answers for Delphi Salaried Retirees

Dayton, OH—This week, Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), and Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) were joined by the entire Ohio Republican delegation in a letter that pushes for new answers on behalf of the Delphi Salaried Retirees. In 2009, more than 20,000 Delphi Salaried Retirees had their pensions unjustly terminated in the wake of the federal government’s bailout of General Motors.   Read more »

Benghazi - The 9-11 Attack Where Justice Has Not Been Served

One year ago today, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and U.S. Navy Seals Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were killed during an attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi. One year later, no one has been held accountable for this abject failure of President Barack Obama's and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's failure to provide either adequate security or to mount a rescue effort.   Read more »

Truth, Justice, and the American Way

Who is famous for saying that there is a "...never ending battle for truth, justice and the American way?" Was it one of our founding fathers or was it the mysterious man wearing a blue and red cape and a large letter 'S' emblazoned on his chest? If you guessed Superman, you are correct!

If you haven't been living under a rock you've heard plenty about the three scandals aka 'scandalpalooza' that have rocked the White House over the last few weeks: the Benghazi hearings, the AP phone tapping scandal and the IRS targeting conservative groups by denying their organizations tax exempt status to stall their efforts during the 2012 presidential election cycle.   Read more »

Congress Goes on Offense to Stop Delphi Pensions from Being "Drained"

Bankruptcy Judge Robert DrainDuring the peak of the Auto Bailout, salaried pensioners from Delphi were, as many believe, unlawfully stripped of their pensions. U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Drain (Southern District of New York) allowed the Treasurary Department, under the leadership of Secretary Timothy Geithner, to unfairly represent various sides of the case leaving the salaried pensioners virtually unrepresented by counsel.     Read more »

Bankruptcy Courts Part 4 - Fairness and Consistency Go Down the Drain

Bankruptcy Judge Robert DrainDuring my investigation series, "A Lawless Presidency", I interviewed Ohio Congressman Mike Turner (R) about the Delphi bankruptcy case. Turner said the "entire process was a miscarriage of justice." After investigating this case further, it is clear why he said that. As you will see below, what happened to the Delphi Salaried Retirees during this bankruptcy process was unfair is unquestionable. But was it a consistent application of the law?

Chapter 11 Bankruptcy - A License to Steal? Or Redistribute Wealth?

SDNY Judges Gerber, Drain and GonzalezWhile investigating the bankruptcy scandal which, under Obama-appointee Timothy Geithner's influence, stole hard-earned and well-funded pensions from 20,000 auto workers, I stumbled into an underworld of law and questionable processes within our nation's bankruptcy court system.  At the recent National Council of Bankruptcy Judges Conference in San Diego last month, I heard phrases like “melting ice cubes,” “rotting fish,” and “fox guarding the hen house” frequently used among 150 federal judges to rationalize certain bankruptcy court proceedings.  Is this a practice of law?  I was shocked to learn that many bankruptcy judges think that it is fine to go after ordinary shareholders of companies that enter bankruptcy in order to disgorge the value of their investments.  They even had a conference session

Early Voting is Critical - The Road to the White House and Control of the Senate Drives Through Ohio

Sherrod Brown vs Josh MandelEarly voting is well underway in the key battleground state of Ohio. Voter turnout is critical in determining not only who will sit in the White House's Oval Office, but also which party will control the U.S. Senate. The road to victory in both of these could rest in one race, the Ohio Senate race between incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown and the challenger, Ohio State Treasurer,

Foreign Policy Debate - Obama Loses Before it Starts on Benghazi Alone - Media Blames Romney

Presidential Debate - Round 3As we sit down to watch the third and final Presidential Debate between President Barack Obama and former Governor Mitt Romney one thing is certain - President Obama's foreign policy failure in Benghazi shows he has lost the debate even before it begins. The murder of US Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans is the straw that breaks the camel's back when it comes to
