Yesterday, I introduced the Protecting Seniors’ Access to Medicare Act of 2013, cosponsored by Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and 30 Senators, which would protect the rights of patients, families, and doctors to make medical decisions by repealing the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).
If there’s one thing President Obama has made clear, it’s that he wants the government to play an increasing role in the lives of everyday Americans. But time and again, we’ve seen that more
Say what you want, Obama may be an economic illiterate but his team can be masterful when it comes to politics. And he managed to get the Republicans to raise marginal tax rates on the “rich” and screw the middle class. At least 77% of Americans will see their taxes go up after this deal, and that is a fact. We should not forget that 75% of the taxes supporting Obamacare will hit the middle class. So much for protecting the middle class. Don't be fooled, the middle class got to keep their Bush tax rates, but they are getting hit by the double whammy of seeing Social Security and Medicare taxes go up by 2 percentage points, and of course, Obamacare. This has been an extraordinary year for Texas and for America. I have selected ten events that I feel made an impression or had and will have an impact in the coming year. These events may not coincide with your impression of 2012, but still they are significant as these events will surely change the way we view the people involved or will lead to major changes affecting our lives. I find it very hard to understand why there is so much emphasis on ‘coming together’. The truth is that the LEFT will never understand that we want God in our lives and see Christ as our Lord and Savior and that we love America. We basically want the best for our children without the help or interference of the ever growing government. The fact is we want a smaller government with fewer dictates and leadership that understands that we can not spend more than we take in.
There are a growing number of employer lawsuits seeking relief from all or part of the ObamaCare contraception mandate currently winding their way through the federal judicial system. As we approach the end of the year, the number of court rulings on these cases is steadily increasing. And the rulings do not bode well for a quick resolution to the legal challenges to Mr. Obama’s signature legislation. Read more »
Rep James White Files Constitutional Amendment Bill to Invalidate Obama Healthcare Individual Mandate in Texas

You can now add my East Texas State Rep. James White to the list of people who have filed awesome conservative bills for the upcoming 2013 Texas Legislative Session.
Super Conservative Texas State Representative James White has filed a bill to constitutionally protect Texas residents from Obama's healthcare individual mandate. Read more »
Medicaid currently takes up about a third of Texas' All-Funds budget, and we can expect it to continue growing over the years unless serious reforms are made. According to a 2010 report by Cato Institute Senior Fellow Dr. Jagadeesh Gokhale on behalf of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, even before ObamaCare was passed, Medicaid was expected to overtake 32% of the All-Funds budget by 2019, and 39.3% by 2040.
The last clear chance to disrupt the full implementation of Obamacare slipped by last night. Despite the fact that a majority of Americans oppose it, the Affordable Care Act will be fully implemented with occasional modifications as the Secretary for Health and Human Services sees fit.
WHAT DO EMPLOYERS HAVE TO DO NEXT?
The landscape of employer-provided health care will change over the next few years. Employers should consider their future plans related to their role in employee health care. They may have to make some big decisions about whether to continue providing coverage to their employees.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is a political committee devoted to maintaining and increasing the 239-member Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
To win in 2012, you had to understand 2010.
Republicans made historic gains two years ago – defeating Democrats in every region of the country and evicting Nancy Pelosi from the Speaker’s chair. These wins were born out of America’s frustration with Washington. For two years straight, Democrats ruthlessly forced a big-government, Washington-knows-best agenda on the American people. It was a disaster for the economy
