The NSA is out of control. It seizes massive amounts of data on Americans without their consent, without their knowledge. This action violates the Fourth Amendment and the PATRIOT Act.
The USA Freedom Act is supposed to halt these literally unwarranted intrusions. The bill, in which I am a cosponsor, passed the Judiciary Committee unanimously.
It’s a Friday. A citizen wakes up, writes emails and makes a phone call.
The person has a meeting soon, so he pulls up Google Maps to figure out a route.
He then hops into a cab, checks Facebook on his phone, texts his friend and plays ‘Candy Crush’ on his iPhone.
After the meeting he heads to the office, logs on to his computer and G-chats with a friend about where he plans to go for dinner that evening. Read more »
“The administration puts forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we provide. No more illegal wiretapping of citizens, no more ignoring the law when it is convenient – that is not who we are. That is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists. We will again set an example for the world that the law is not subject to the whims of stubborn rulers and that justice is not arbitrary. This administration acts like violating civil liberties is the way to enhance our own security. It is not.”
Those were the words of Senator Barack Obama in 2007.
That was then. This is now. Read more »
Republican Congressman John Culberson of CD-7 hosted a town hall meeting for his constituents at Cy-Falls High School. The crowd was sparse, about fifty or so in attendance. The mood was relaxed, no crazy video taped confrontations or rude constituents, just concerned citizens waiting for an update from the Congressman.
I was surprised anybody made it out because as we all know, Senator Ted Cruz was in the throes of a filibuster to try and defund Obamacare in the Senate. You can imagine that the topic of conversation was focused on Obamacare. There were other concerns raised, such as the NSA spying scandal, in which Congressman Culberson denounced Edward Snowden as a traitor. The Congressman also said that he wouldn't vote to repeal the Patriot Act, which was in large part the reason the government was allowed to spy upon innocent American citizens, although he'll tell you that wasn't the intention of the Patriot Act. Spoiler alert! Obama has already read this blog!
Do you remember where you were when Princess Diana's car wreck made the news? Do you remember what you were doing when you first heard about it? Were you on the phone, at work, or giving the kids a bath? How did it make you feel? Every tragedy or event that's happened in human history always seems to leave
My name is John Griffing. I'm an average patriotic American citizen, and I’m alarmed. I’m alarmed at the speed with which our country is giving away its precious freedoms, and I’m alarmed at the role our own president has played in this process. But, above all, I’m alarmed at how little is being done, that could and should be done, to STOP it.
Early on, our president told us he wanted to fundamentally change the United States of America. True to his word, he has worked tirelessly to undermine American sovereignty and economic strength, and to bring his own country to the brink of disaster. There’s no longer any need to build this case....the volume of evidence is
Ten years ago a foreign enemy attacked us on our own soil. On that fateful day in September, thousands of innocent Americans lost their lives.
As we reflect on the ten year anniversary, we can recall what it felt like to watch the horrific events of that day unfold. Read more »
Pajamas Media TV and Andrew Klavan's "On the Culture" take a satirical look back at Obama's Summer of Recovery. Let's see how President Obama is doing in comparison with former President Bush's programs on the economy, security and wars around the world.
I wonder if President Obama can be bothered enough to keep him off the golf courses and vacation spots of the world this summer. Perhaps he can actually focus on job recovery? Stopping the spread of illegal wars?
Conversation With Alberto Gonzales, Former US Attorney General - Patriot Act - 'Kill' Obl - Enhanced Interrogation - Gitmo
911 changed America forever. We will never be the same, regardless of how much we want it or how much we believe that we can bring back that time before 911. President GW Bush in the infancy of his presidential term had to deal with this massive and devastating heartache. The Liberal Media or the mainstream media never let up on Bush. Even today the MSM continues to hammer him and his administration. What conservatives have to realize is that we have been brainwashed and, knowingly or not, many Americans have been conditioned to believe what is read or heard. How much you believe in the MSM is your choice. Read more »
