Addendum to the Autopsy: Team for America

Having finished reading the “Growth and Opportunity Project” report from a blue ribbon panel appointed by Chairman Reince Priebus, it reported seven different areas for improvement in the next campaign cycle. Each area described will likely have appeal to some people. To find your niche to help out, please read the entire report—it’s not that long—located at: growthopp.gop.com/default.aspx and many other sites.

However, I propose an eighth area of improvement. Let me call this the Team for America approach.

CPAC 2013 and the Presidential Hopefuls

Fellow TexasGOPVote blogger Tom Donelson recently wrote about some of the CPAC 2013 speakers who stand out as possible 2016 Presidential contenders, listing Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Rand Paul.

I respectfully add to that list Ted Cruz, Allen West, Governors Scott Walker and Jeb Bush, and a long shot but very popular person, Dr. Ben Carson of Prayer Breakfast fame.

CPAC also featured Texas Governor Rick Perry, whose presence seemed to signal interest in running for President, although he has frequently told audiences

The Renowned Texas Spirit Shone Bright at the Republican National Convention

Tuesday was an incredible day for Texas Republicans attending the party’s national convention in Tampa, Florida. Texas’ newly elected U.S. Senate Candidate Ted Cruz delivered a spectacular keynote speech--without using a teleprompter or a podium! Texas delegates rose to our feet and completed his sentence about our iconic heritage telling the Mexican general at the Battle of Gonzales who demanded return

Chairman's Update: April 2012

Republican Party of Texas - The overriding priority for the month of April was to help organize and coordinate the selection of delegates and alternates at County & District Conventions across Texas. Never before in modern Texas Republican Party history, have precinct conventions and district conventions had to be held without the benefit of a primary occurring first. This situation was the result of the redistricting lawsuits which caused our Primary to be moved later on the calendar to May 29th. Since our State Convention is June 7-9, it was impossible, because of time constraints, to have precinct conventions on the day of the Primary Election.   Read more »

I Was Wrrrr...ong. So Now What? We Can Restore America With Romney

I want to look at the current situation very carefully and imagine a positive course forward. But I have to get a few things out of the way at the top. Anyone who has peaked in at what I’ve written will know that I have assertively opposed Mitt Romney since Herman Cain’s star fell…or was shot down. I never bought the smear of Cain. You should notice that the charges stopped when he withdrew, but they would surely have continued if he hadn’t, especially if he rose in the polls again. I did gag a bit at his 9-9-9 plan, because of the horror of opening a new revenue stream for the federal government.

Romney: A Conservative Wish List

Dear Governor Mitt Romney,

Congratulations, Sir! You have won 3/4 of the 1150 or so delegates you need to win the Republican Party nomination for President.

Republicans, especially Conservative Republicans, haven’t been able to generate much enthusiasm for your campaign. Even with Rick Santorum out of the race, you still barely won a majority of votes in the various State’s Primaries this week. We don’t want Obama to win in November, but there’s still doubts about whether you can win.   Read more »

A Glimmer Of Hope For The Last Conservative Standing!

We must never give up; our founding fathers did not die to make America the heart of freedom just for us to be discouraged because Romney or Gingrich are not our choice candidate. If we give up, what future will we leave our children and grandchildren, a future under socialism and communism? Imagine our future generations living in poverty and without the knowledge of Almighty God.

Rick Santorum suspended his campaign disappointing many of his supporters. Santorum did what he believed to be the right thing to do for himself and his family.

Rick Santorum Drops out of Presidential Race

Rick Santorum is set to announce in Pennsylvania this afternoon that he is suspending his bid for GOP Presidential nominee.

His decision comes after a slew of primary losses made it harder for him to catch Romney in the delegate count and it follows a meeting the former Pennsylvania senator had with conservative leaders last week to discuss his path forward.

Texas “Winner Take All” is NOT about Romney or Santorum. It is about TEXAS

Texas MUST go to Winner Take All in order to be relevant in this Presidential Election. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain! This has nothing to do with Santorum or Romney. It is about TEXAS. Also, the RNC and DOJ cannot stop us or scare us!

I am a Santorum supporter and I am a Texas GOP SREC member in favor of an Emergency Meeting to go to Winner Take All, but it is very important to make it clear that I have been for winner take all

National Media quotes SREC Committeeman and TexasGOPVote Blogger David Bellow on Winner Take All

The national media has now jumped in after TexasGOPVote blogger David Bellow blogged about a possible emergency State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) meeting to change Texas from a proportional to a winner-take-all state, when Texas Republican delegates participate in the Republican National Convention in August. Bellow's post came on the heals of his post about the pending Texas Presidential Debate in May and his post about the resolution passed by the Republican Party of Texas warning Gov. Mitt Romney to attend the debate or risk losing Texas delegates. Today, additional national blogs and media stepped in. Bellow was quoted extensively in the Daily Caller as well as several other sources (see more links below).

If the SREC changes Texas into a winner-take-all state, 155 delegates are up for grabs,
